Jaipur Pink Panthers vs Dabang Delhi: The Eagles look for their maiden win
The Kolkata leg of the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League season 3 gets underway tonight and Dabang Delhi K.C. will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing performance in their last match against U Mumba. The team from the capital are one of the better teams in the competition and would want to get their campaign back on track with a win tonight against the Jaipur Pink Panthers.
The Eagles need to improve their performances drastically to have a fighting chance of qualifying for the semi-finals of the league and there is no margin for error for them going forward. With only 1 point from their four matches so far, the Delhi outfit need to put in a team performance against the Panthers, who are right above them in the table, to get back into the race for a top four finish.
The last match against U Mumba saw star raider Kashiling Adake having to go off with a suspected groin injury before he recovered sufficiently to come back on and contribute. Coach Balwan Singh will want his team to grab the initiative today and ensure they stay aggressive for the entire match. The raiding trio of Kashiling, Surjeet Singh (Narwal) and Rohit Kumar Chaudhary will have to exhibit a good mix of skill and tact to ensure they get maximum points for their team.
On the other hand, the Dabang Delhi defence has its task cut out and needs to pick up its performance. Led by captain Ravinder Pahal, the best defender of season 2, they will have to ensure that they defend much better as a team, and Pahal will be wanting to shine through, having had a relatively plain campaign so far.
The Jaipur Pink Panthers have a few dangerous weapons in their armoury, with raider Jasvir Singh their most important player. Jasvir has already scored 17 raid points this season and has been Jaipur's best attacking option. Rohit Rana will man their defence and he has been in good form, registering 2.66 successful tackles per match and leading the team's defence.
The match between Dabang Delhi and Jaipur Pink Panthers is the 2nd match of the day, and will start at 9 pm Indian time.
