It was top versus bottom in the second game of Day 2 of the Delhi leg in the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League as the Patna Pirates took on home side Dabang Delhi. The Eagles, who started without skipper Ravinder Pahal, looked to recover from a defeat at the hands of the Telugu Titans, while the Pirates have just lost one game throughout the entire campaign.

The first two points of the game were picked up by Dabang Delhi, who were desperate for a good start. But it was as good as it got for the Eagles in the first half as the Pirates then took six in a row, with Pardeep Narwal scoring a super raid in his very first effort. In just the 4th minute, the Delhi side were all out as the scoreline read 9-3.

The league leaders widened the margin to 13-5 in the 7th minute, after which three successful raids from each team made it 16-8. Another all out was to ensue in the 15th minute after Surjeet Singh was brought down by the Patna defenders.

It did not stop there, as the Eagles were dismissed for the third time in the half after Pardeep Narwal and Rohit Kumar picked up two points each in their respective raids. The lone-standing Gnanasekaran M was stopped in his tracks in the 19th minute to complete the all out and the Pirates led after the first half by a mammoth 38-17 margin.

The second half opened on a positive note for the Eagles as star raider Kashiling Adake conjured up an early super raid in the first minute of the second half. Delhi sorely missed their leader in defence as the Pirates continued to put points on the board with every passing minute.

In the 26th minute, the Eagles were all out for the fourth time as Selvamani K was tackled by Sandeep Narwal, with the scoreboard now reading 49-23 in favour of the league leaders. Both sides continued to exchange blows after that, with Patna in clear command.

The next highlight of the game came in the 35th minute as Patna’s Mahipal Narwal was brought down in a super tackle situation. Surjeet Singh was brought down in the next raid, before Sandeep Dhull surrendered to Sandeep Narwal, as the Delhi side were all out for the fifth time in the tie. The score was now 63-30 to the Patna Pirates.

It ended at 67-34 after the 40 minutes, as the Pirates broke the record (60) from Season 1 for the maximum points in a game. The Eagles were found wanting in defense as they mustered only 7 tackle points, while the Pirates picked up 20. Rohit Kumar recorded a whopping 15 raid points and Sandeep Narwal led in defence with 8 tackle points.
