Competing at home after the Mumbai leg seems to have worked wonders for the Panthers skipper Jasvir Singh, as he has found some stunning form in the three games the Panthers have played at home. Jaipur will have to be wary of the potential imbibed in the Puneri Paltans.

Albeit their tie against U-Mumba, Jaipur’s two wins and a tie have all been thrilling finishes and they will be hoping to give themselves some breathing space, considering this being their third consecutive game in a row. Unbeaten from their last three games, the Pink Panthers will be high on confidence when they step onto the mat against Pune.

Pune started off strong in the tournament by registering a comprehensive victory over a young Telugu Titans squad. The real authoritative stamp was laid down by Puneri Paltans when they managed to outclass U-Mumba by 22 points in their second game. Against defending champions Patna Pirates, the Paltans could not find their way around and were handed their first loss in the tournament.

Pune was pitted against Dabang Delhi, a team which has had a miserable winning history from the past three seasons. Tipped off as favourites, Pune made a mess of crunch situations which Delhi used to their advantage, as both teams produced the first tie of this season.

The whole Pune outfit has contributed in some way to their winning cause. Ajay Thakur was phenomenal against U-Mumba with his three super raids, while Manjeet Chhillar has certainly put his name down for this season’s MVP with his contributions in the raiding and defence departments. After a bad game against U-Mumba, Deepak Niwas Hooda has found his bearings, and will have to play a vital role to stop the high flying Jaipur raiders.

Following a loss to U-Mumba in their opening encounter, the Pink Panthers have made a stunning comeback in their home leg to register two wins and a tie in their three games. Jasvir Singh has handled the raiding duties to perfection, apart from the one game against U-Mumba where he had an off-day on the mat.

Rajesh Narwal has played the perfect all-rounder’s role, while Ran Singh has made himself a name by stationing himself at the left corner and coming out with the all important tackles at crunch situations.

The Pink Panthers almost succumbed to their second loss against the Telugu Titans but were helped by some late childish mistakes from the Titans. Some immaculate raiding from Jasvir Singh and timely tackles saw the Panthers come back from a huge deficit to tie the game against Bengaluru.

Against the Warriors, the defence quarters had a disappointing game but were overshadowed by the brilliance of Jasvir Singh, who scored 13 points and was ably assisted by Shabeer Bapu, who registered yet another super 10 to his name.

When the whistle is blown to get the game going, it will be an equitable battle, with all-round abilities from both sides. With the top spot up for grabs, one can expect both teams to go all out when it comes to showcasing their skills on the mat.
