After a long six day break from action in the glamorous league, a positive U-Mumba squad will take on top placed Jaipur Pink Panthers for match 32 of the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League Season 4. U-Mumba faltered in the earlier stages in the competition but have staged a comeback and will look menacing against the Jaipur Pink Panthers, who will be looking to continue their streak of wins and extract revenge from their initial loss to the season 2 champions.

U-Mumba performance so far

U-Mumba started off their campaign against the Panthers with a win over the inaugural champions but were given a sound thrashing when they faced the Manjeet Chhillar led Puneri Paltans. Against Dabang Delhi and Bengal Warriors, contributions came in from all their starting seven which ensured U-Mumba made short work of both the teams.

A Rakesh Kumar special did not prove enough to grab a victory against a Rahul Chaudhari and Nilesh Salunke inspired Titans line-up as both the star raiders from the Telugu Titans ensured U-Mumba’s defence came out a cropper.

Hanging on to dear life against a confident Bengaluru Bulls side, U-Mumba showed the world why they were the best in business, Anup Kumar stepping up to the plate when his team needed it the most. Scoring almost half the points of his team’s total tally, the 32-year old brought out his mixed bag of tricks just in time to bring home a much-needed victory to U-Mumba.

Mohit Chhillar and Surender Nada seemed to have the better of their ex-teammates Rakesh Kumar and Rishank Devadiga but did not have any reply for their charismatic ex-skipper.

Rishank Devadiga has been a constant performer for U-Mumba this year, failing in just one or two matches. However, Anup Kumar stole the thunder from the youngster in the match against the Bulls and leads the raid tally for the season 2 champions.

Rishank Devadiga is just a point behind Anup Kumar and will be given the onus against the Panthers, while Rakesh Kumar has donned the all-rounder’s role to perfection.

Jaipur Pink Panthers performance so far

The Panthers have enjoyed a mixed bag of success so far, with five wins and three losses from their eight games so far. The Panthers are on a marvellous run, registering a hat-trick of wins after their nail-biting win against the Bulls.

The Panthers made a strong mark by retaining two of their best performers from season three, Rajesh Narwal and Jasvir Singh. Season 4 has also witnessed the duo at their best and are leading the points tally for Jaipur.

Jasvir Singh has donned the chief raider’s role while all-rounder Rajesh Narwal has created riots amongst the opposition camp whenever he has gone into a raid or put in his vicious tackles. Ajay Kumar, who was initially introduced as a substitute has emerged as a key player for the Panthers, assisting Jasvir and Rajesh splendidly well.

The Panthers best performance came up against the Dabang Delhi, who they decimated by a margin of 25 points with Rajesh Narwal putting his best game forward, racking up 16 points to his name in a single game.

Amit Hooda has had a good time on the mat in the matches he has featured, while Ran Singh has faded off after a good couple of games and will look to get back in good form.

Match Prediction

The Pink Panthers will be looking to continue their high-flying campaign after their previous win to Bengaluru Bulls which saw them leapfrogging Patna and Pune to the top position with five wins from eight games.

Jasvir Singh has been sensational with his mix of agile raids to empty raids, while Rajesh Narwal has been a force to reckon with whenever he has stepped into a raid. Against Sunil Kumar and Rakesh Kumar, Rajesh will have a major role to play and will be the key man to watch out for.

The Panthers have been in great form with a hat-trick of wins following their win against the Bengaluru Bulls. U-Mumba are coming off a long break after a win against the Bulls and will be rejuvenated, which could help tilt the match in their favour added to the acres of experience spread amongst the squad.
