The Fazel Atrachali-led side made a top start to their home leg with a 10-point win against the Puneri Paltan but failed to hold on to a 21-16 lead against the Bengaluru Bulls in their second game that proved to be their undoing.
Talented youngster Abhishek Singh has been in good form throughout the season and has notched up 27 points from four games, leading the raiding unit of U Mumba while Rohit Baliyan has chipped in with a couple of useful points.
On the defensive front, skipper Fazel Atrachali has been at his best and has 12 tackle points from four games while exciting cover defender Surinder Singh has 11 points and will need to strike an alliance with his captain to pile pressure on the Yoddha raiders.
Yoddha, on the other hand, have several issues to address before they step on to the mat against the hosts. The raiding unit has failed to click with star raider Monu Goyat collecting just 7 points from two games while Shrikant Jadhav has a mere 5 points to his name.
The continued absence of Rishank Devadiga has undoubtedly hit the team hard and under the leadership of ace corner defender Nitesh Kumar, the Yoddha have fallen to two massive losses.
On the defensive front, Nitesh Kumar has picked up a couple of points every game but has looked far from his absolute best when compared to last season. The form of Narender has also been a massive issue and with the lack of bench strength a massive obstacle, U.P. Yoddha certainly have their backs up against the wall against U Mumba.
Predicted starting 7s
U Mumba: Fazel Atrachali (c), Sandeep Narwal, Surinder Singh, Harendra Singh, Rohit Baliyan, Abhishek Singh, Dong Geon Lee.
U.P. Yoddha: Nitesh Kumar (c), Monu Goyat, Shrikant Jadhav, Narender, Azad Singh, Sumit, Amit.
If one was to look back at history, there is almost nothing to separate these two teams as both U Mumba and U.P. Yoddha have two wins each. However, when it comes down to the present form, U Mumba certainly have an advantage.
Both departments have come together well for the season two champions and along with Fazel Atrachali, Sandeep Narwal has combined well to bring down the raid force of the opposition.
With a vociferous home crowd egging on U Mumba to win this encounter, the Yoddha will certainly have an uphill task of securing their first win of the campaign.
U Mumba could be expected to win this match.
