The Jaipur Pink Panthers have had a good start to this Pro Kabaddi season and despite their most recent loss at the hands of U Mumba, they look on course to make a strong run for a berth in the super playoffs. They have lost three matches so far in the seven that they have played and have given a good account of themselves in every game, despite suffering some serious injury blows early in the season.

As they travel to Kolkata and get set to take on the Gujarat Fortunegiants on Sunday, there is good news for fans as their star raider could be all set to return to action after a lengthy layoff. Sources close to the team have confirmed to Sportskeeda that star raider Selvamani K has rejoined the team and the team's doctors are still assessing his situation. However, he is in line to return to the mat quite soon.

The lanky raider, who was one of the most expensive picks in the player auction, suffered a horrible injury in his side's opening match against Dabang Delhi, that they would eventually go on to lose. It was later determined that the youngster from Tamil Nadu had injured his groin and would be out of action for a prolonged period of time.

However, it was later confirmed by the team management during the Lucknow leg that he was undergoing rehab in Chennai and was expected to return soon.

The Pink Panthers have also been without their talismanic skipper Manjeet Chhillar, who also suffered an injury and despite him wanting to play, he has been kept out of the lineup. In his absence, it has been Jasvir Singh who has been leading the side and has done a fair job of it.

The team will be looking to get back to full strength as the three-month competition enters its sixth week in Kolkata. Selvamani's return to the mat will surely be a huge boost for the Pink Panthers as they look to make their way up the table.
