Defenders
The team has purchased a total of seven defenders. The list has Vishal Mane, who was a part of Patna Pirates last time.
In the initial days of season 5, he played pretty well and scored a few high-fives, but as the season proceeded on, he failed to show any performance. This time, he is expected to show his best game.
The team also decided to buy back The Hawk Ravinder Pahal. He played in Delhi till season 3. He was bought by Puneri Paltan in season 4, where he played quite well. Season 5 in Bengaluru Bulls was rather disastrous for him.
He got the red card in a match against Bengal Warriors due to which; he had to miss three matches.
Delhi used the FBM card for bringing back Viraj Landge and Satpal Narwal, who played well for the team last season. Joginder Narwal, Anil Kumar, and Tushar Bhoir will also be seen defending Delhi this time.
If we give a look at the defenders in the team, it is quite obvious that the team lacks a reliable defender which might cost them in future. They have quite a few experienced defenders like Pahal and Mane, but their form was not consistent throughout the season last year.
Altogether, the defender's list could have been much better with more consistent players.
