Puneri Paltan vs Dabang Delhi: Can the Eagles build on their first win?
Dabang Delhi take on Puneri Paltan in the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi league tonight looking to continue their winning run from the previous match. With 1 win out of their 8 matches, the team from Delhi can't afford to miss out on any wins going forward and need to make the most of their chances in each match.
The Dabangs changed their fortunes in the previous match, dominating from start to finish to vanquish the Bengaluru Bulls 35-21. They kept the pressure on their opposition, and performed their duties admirably, gelling very well as a team.
The raiders, led by star Kashiling Adake, racked up a lot of points. The highest scoring raider from season 2 with 114 points, Kashiling, scored 8 points in total in an all-round impressive performance, with one point coming for a very good tackle also.
Selvamani was the surprise package in the previous game, following up his 5-point scoring performance from his first match with 7 points against the Bulls. The lanky raider uses his physique very well and scored points off touches.
The Delhi raiders will look to continue their good performance against the Puneri Paltan also, and will be wary of the presence of Manjeet Chhillar in the Pune defence. Similarly, Ajay Thakur and Manjeet Chhillar will both be marked men as the Dabang defence will look to keep them quiet.
The most important change for Delhi was Ravinder Pahal's performance in defence. The captain was in full flow, tackling his opponents with power and vigour while organising his defence with great energy and efficiency. Pahal was communicating regularly with his players, keeping them keyed into the game and helping them out as and when needed.
Puneri Paltan have had a mixed bag in their last 5 matches, drawing 3 of them while winning and losing one each. Manjeet Chhillar and Ajay Thakur are their key players and will look to assert their dominance over the Eagles early in the match. In the previous matchup between these teams earlier this season, the Paltan had won 38-20.
The match between Puneri Paltan and Dabang Delhi is the 2nd match of the day, and will start at 9 pm Indian time.
