Top 5 defenders from week 2 of Pro Kabaddi League season 4
Week 2 of Pro Kabaddi League season 4 saw the eight franchises compete against each other in the Hyderabad and Patna. After two weeks of the tournament, Patna Pirates lead the table with 26 points in 7 matches, having lost just 2 games in the process.
Jaipur Pink Panthers had a good week as well, as they stand second in the table with 25 points in 7 matches. Puneri Paltan are third with the same number of points as Jaipur and U Mumba are fourth with 22 points in 7 matches.
The second week saw defenders go about their usual business, as players like Mohit Chhillar, Sachin Shingade and Manjeet Chhillar were mostly successful in subduing raiders and stopped them from scoring points.
Young guns like Ravinder Pahal and Sandeep Dhull showed an amazing display of their skill to ensure the raiders were unsuccessful in their attempts to score raid points.
Just like Castrol Activ Actibonds cling on to each other and offer continuous protection to the engine, enabling it to perform much better, defenders help give the team protection, stability and confidence, which the raiders then convert into points.
Let us now take a look at the top 5 defenders of the week:
Sachin Shingade – Dabang Delhi
Dabang Delhi finally brought an end to the 5-match unbeaten streak of Patna Pirates, by defeating them 33-15 in their own backyard. The match saw everything going right for Delhi, as they outclassed Patna in both offense and defense. The raiders were on point and scored points for the team with ease, but it was the defenders who won the match for Delhi.
Sachin Shingade had a big role to play in the victory. He made sure Pardeep Narwal, who is having a phenomenal season was not allowed to score points at will, and was successful in his mission. He collected 4 tackle points in the match as Pardeep and the other raiders were left clueless on the court as they went for raids. He stands second on the list of top defenders after week 2, with 25 successful tackles to his name.
