Heather Knight:"It was a fantastic game of cricket. Although we managed to build a crucial partnership towards the end, it was unfortunate that it didn't quite yield the desired result. Chasing 180 was always going to be a tough ask, but I'm proud of the way the team fought till the very end. There were several positives to take away from today's game, and we'll definitely be carrying that confidence forward. The girls showed great resilience and determination, and I'm incredibly proud of their efforts."

Constatnly looking at the DLS, looking at the radar. Team performance over all. Grace was outstanding at the backend, the bowlers did a brilliant job as well. I'm exhausted, doing all the calculations and talking to a couple of players, glad it is over. Really pleased to win the Ashes, to do it this early as well, we have a long way to go still though.

Despite Mooney's early onslaught, Australia Women lost wickets in the middle overs, which slowed their scoring rate. However, skipper Tahila McGrath and Grace Harris combined to propel Australia to a formidable total of 185. Their partnership was instrumental in helping Australian women recover from the mid-innings slump and post a competitive total.

In response, England Women's Maia Bouchier and Danni Wyatt made a solid start, navigating the Australian bowling attack with caution. However, Bouchier's untimely dismissal just before the powerplay ended halted their momentum. She fell victim to a bizarre caught-and-bowled dismissal, which left England Women at 48/1.
