Commentary

The Australian juggernaut continues to march on with one eye on their title defense at the T20 World Cup next month. Before that, there's another game in this series to be played which will take place at the Manuka Oval on Sunday. With the series wrapped up, perhaps we could see a few changes in that contest. Game. Set. Match. Australia complete another convincing victory this evening and seal the T20I series by winning the first two games. It was all a bit too comfortable for them since the start, using nine bowlers to restrict Pakistan to a minimal total before chasing it down without a fuss.

Beth Mooney and Meg Lanning were the only two players who didn't bowl in the first innings. The two opened the batting and did most of the hard work by cruising along in the run chase. Lanning showed her class once more to tick along in the innings before being dismissed by Nida Dar.

The all-rounder could have had the wicket of Mooney early on when the left-hander was at 14 off 16. However, the missed stumping chance proved to be costly as Mooney effortlessly switched gears to race close to a half-century before being eventually being dismissed by Dar.

Those two successes in the field was all that the Pakistan bowlers got from their end. McGrath did her bit, finishing the innings off like she so often does, alongside Ash Gardner, who put on a show for the crowd. It's a comfortable win for Australia to take an unassailable two-nil lead in the series.
