St Lucia Zouks thump Barbados Tridents by defending 92 runs and create history !

That viewers brings us to the end of a low scoring thrilling encounter as the chase went all the way down the wire. The chase started off at a decent rate as the openers scored at 6 an over. The wicket was slow and very difficult for the batsmen to go big as mentioned throughout the game. The Tridents has no reason to hurry and all they needed was to go at 5 runs an over. But, they messed up what looked like an easy but tricky chase. Captain Holder departed cheaply as he got plumb to Williams. Tridents lost 3 wickets in quick succession.  Later, Corey Anderson and Johnson Charles rotated the strike and kept the chase alive  by rotating the strike. They could not hit any boundary and dealt only in singles. What followed was some brilliant display of bowling and fielding from the Zouks. Mohammad Nabi sent back Johnson Charles while Glen struck twice dismissing Rashid Khan and the dangerous Corey Anderson for the final nail in the coffin. The tail enders could not score 13 runs off 12 balls and in the end fall 3 runs short of victory. Only four batsman reached double digits and the inability to score boundaries costed the game for Tridents. They scored just 6 boundaries off 120 deliveries which is 20 balls to score one four. That is where the Tridents lost the game.

Sensational scenes here at the stadium. The Zouks are delighted to the core and the reason being they defended the lowest score in the history of CPL owing to some sensational bowling, aggressive captaincy and INTENT to win the game.

Javelle Glenn is the man of the match for his performance of 3 overs 11 runs and two wickets as he shows off his move yet again.

That is it from us here at Sportskeeda, Ladies and Gentlemen. We hopeyou enjoyed our coverage of this low scoring encounter. Do join us for the games later today. Till the, this is Manoj Sarma and my partner Maanas Upadhyay signing off. Stay Safe !
19.6 Roston Chase to Nyeem Young, full toss outside off and the batsman whacks it to deep cover for a couple of runs! Not the maximum that they needed. Elation for the Zouks, sorrow for the Tridents. They have snatched the game from the jaws of defeat and have defended 92 runs! Lowest total defended in the history of CPL!! The St. Lucia Zouks beat the Barbados Tridents by 3 runs! Second consecutive game that the Tridents have squandered away after being in a winning position throughout the game!
19.5 Roston Chase to Raymon Reifer, Yorker on the off stump fired in and Reifer swings hard but cannot get bat on ball. Goes through the keeper's pads and the batsmen scamper across for a single.  Boy Oh Boy ! What a game this is turning out to be. 6 to win off the last ball.
19.4 Roston Chase to Raymon Reifer, full toss outside off and Reifer slashes it towards deep backward point for a couple of runs. 7 runs needed off 2 balls now! One can sense nerves here!
19.3 Roston Chase to Raymon Reifer, comes over the wicket for the left hander, juicy full toss outside off ad Reifer misses that! That should have been dispatched!
19.2 Roston Chase to Ashley Nurse, OUT! Loopy full ball outside off and Nurse moves across and connects with the slog sweep. Cannot middle it well and Zadran at deep mid-wicket takes a stupendous diving catch! Is that curtains for the Tridents? They need one big hit atleast to seal the game.
19.1 Roston Chase to Ashley Nurse, coming around the wicket to the right hander, yorker on the off stump and Nurse moves across and looks to slog it but cannot get bat on ball. Dot ball!
Alrighty then!! This game boils down to the final over of the game. Tridents need 9 runs of the last over. Can Ashley Nurse do it for his team?
18.6 Javelle Glenn to Ashley Nurse, length ball outside off spinning away, Nurse moves across and somehow manages to pull that to deep square leg fro a single.
18.5 Javelle Glenn to Rashid Khan, OUT! length ball on the middle stump spinning away, Rashid goes for the big heave across the line but cannot get enough bat on it. Ends up playing it straight into the hands of the deep mid-wicket fielder, who takes a comfortable catch! Rashid Khan departs! Glenn is delighted and shows off his move.
18.4 Javelle Glenn to Ashley Nurse, length ball on the off stump and Nurse goes for the big slog. Ends up slicing it in the air but it falls safely beyond mid off.
18.3 Javelle Glenn to Rashid Khan, length ball on the off stump, Rashid dances down the track and works it towards long off for a single. They need a boundary very badly here.
18.2 Javelle Glenn to Rashid Khan, length ball on the middle stump spinning away, Rashid cuts it straight to point. No run!
18.1 Javelle Glenn to Ashley Nurse, short ball banged into the pitch that keeps low, Nurse does well to punch it to long on for a single.
End of the eighteenth over and Tridents are 80/5 after 18 overs. Need 13 runs off the last two overs. Can Tridents do it? What do Zouks have up their sleeve.
17.6 Mohammad Nabi to Ashley Nurse, full ball outside off and Nurse reverse paddles it to third man for a single. A single to finish off the over.
17.5 Mohammad Nabi to Ashley Nurse, no run, length ball outside off and Nurse cannot connect with the cut shot.
17.4 Mohammad Nabi to Rashid Khan, length ball outside off carved to deep point for a single.
17.3 Mohammad Nabi to Rashid Khan, yorker on the pads fired in, Khan squeezes it out back to the bowler. No run!
17.2 Mohammad Nabi to Corey Anderson, OUT! Slower length ball on the middle stump spinning away, Anderson comes down the track and swings hard at it but cannot get any bat on it. The ball goes on to clip the top of off stump and Anderson has to walk back! Boy Oh Boy! Anderson departs, is this a twist in the tale? Anderson comes downtown and looks to heave that one over the top but the turn meant that  he missed that one and Fletcher behind does the rest.
