This win further consolidates the top position for Brisbane Heat who are now at 14 points from 8 matches which gets them the 'Q' in front of their name - the first team to qualify for the knock out stages.

The Hobart Hurricanes would feel they have closely missed out on an opportunity to break into the top 4. It makes their situation rather tricky now.

They will be back in action in less than 48 hours when they go to the Adelaide Oval before hosting the Strikers again for the reverse fixture on Thursday.

The Brisbane Heat would be starting to make their plans for the knockout fixtures and what better team to prepare for that than the two-time defending champions Perth Scorchers - who will play them twice over the next 6 days.

Xavier Bartlett is the player of the match, here's what he has to say: Unbelievable game of cricket. We just wanted to try and take the wickets. It's a funny one. You just try and bowl your best balls and that (the last wicket) was my worst ball of the night. It quickened up a little bit and we just looked to bowl the hard length.

The Heat win 6 in a row for the first time in their history! It is heartbreak for the Hurricanes as they came so close. It looked all doom and gloom for them when Bartlett ran through the top order rampantly in his opening over which made 133 look as if it is an Everest to climb.

While receiving his Man of the Match, Bartlett applauds the crowd for their unbelievable support. The drizzle quickened the surface a bit which helped the batters but he will be smiling at the end with his team registering yet another win.

Wickets kept on falling before Tim David joined hands with Nikhil Chaudhary and the rain decided to make an appearance. That stand threatened to take the game away from the home team.

47 from 35 balls was what the duo stitched together before David departed the scene but Chaudhary was still going strong with his attacking approach at the other end. When he struck the first ball of the last over to bring down the equation to 7 needed from 5, it almost seemed like his maiden Big Bash half-century would come on a winning note.

But it was not to be as Walter found a method to bring his side back into the game which eventually transpired into the lowest ever score to have ever been succesfully defended at this ground.
