Mayank Agarwal (captain, India 'A'): Very happy with the win, the way we played in the first innings really changed the game for us. the bowlers also made a big difference and the way we bowled in the first innings also set us up well. The bowlers did well in dismissing their batting attack in two innings. We knew that there is not a lot on offer but if you bowl with discipline and consistency it won't get easy for their batters as well. It was a very pleasing sight, we spoke about creating a positive environment and helped us

Shams Mulani is the player of the match. Here is what he has to say: Yeah it was tough in this heat. I was thinking of what I do for my state and tried to replicate that. Discipline while batting helped me a lot and I tried to do the same while bowling. One odd ball was gripping and I tried that which worked. What I spoke with the captain and coach was like to bowl in one area and replicate that.

Shreyas Iyer (India 'D' captain): Right from ball one, we were on the mark. We got crucial four wickets then, Shams and Tanush have been performing brilliantly, that partnership took away the momentum and when we came to bat, we lost a lot of wickets quickly. We could see the ball turn and (his bowlers)'s wickets were important. Ricky batted brilliantly. There was a bit of excitement and a lot of purpose but 400+ runs were too many at the end. We'd love to turn it around in the next match.

6 points for India A, disappointment for India D who are now out of contention for winning the Duleep Trophy! Some things went their way in this contest but they were too lax in the field and that is where the match drifted away from them, especially in the first innings where they should have got the better of Tanush Kotian and Shams Mulani. India A will belive they have a chance of winning the trophy with a close eye on the contest happening on the second ground.

India D started off really well with their overnight score reading 62/1 after Day 3 came to an end. Atharva Taide was dismissed early but then Ricky Bhui and Yash Dubey convened in the middle and did well to stitch a partnership. Shreyas Iyer and Samson contributed in this essay with cute cameos with Bhui making it big and scoring a hundred.

Things seemed to be going well but once Bhui was dismissed, India D were derailed. Tanush Kotian ran riot and picked up four wickets and ensured that India D were out of the game. Riyan Parag rolled his arm and over and picked up the last wicket, helping India A get the result they desired.

Tanush Kotian starred for India A picking up four wickets. Shams Mulani, fellow Mumbai teammate of Kotain, aided him by picking up three wickets while Khaleel Ahmed and Riyan Parag picked up a wicket each. The fielding was good as well with the fielders putting in dives to save runs and not allow the batters to steal runs. Let us now here what the captains and the Player of the Match have to say.
