India defeat Australia by six wickets in Hyderabad and take a 1-0 lead in the 5-match ODI series. That's it for today from us at Sportskeeda. Thanks for joining us in our live coverage. Do join us for the second ODI at Nagpur on March 5.
Player of the Match Kedar Jadhav: My bowling is all about reading what the batsman is trying to do. The idea is to bowl stump-to-stump. The best part about my bowler is that I don't think like a bowler. I just enjoy my bowling. (On his batting) Recently in Australia, we put up a similar kind of chase. When you have Mahi bhai at the other end, you don't have to worry about a lot. I get to learn a lot from him. Nobody is better than him in the middle to learn the game from. We are looking forward to every game, and we learn from our captain that we need to keep our intensity up. I guess I have tried to play more shots, but plenty of times he tells you that the team needs me to be more solid.
India captain Virat Kohli: It was a difficult sort of a game. We did a good job with the ball. You have experience with MS and flair with Kedar. I think Kedar and MS took responsibility, it was great. (On Jadeja's spell) Ten overs for less than 35 is a great job on this pitch. He set his fields on his game. Out of his entire spell, only one ball to Khawaja turned. Kuldeep's been doing it for a while. I have never seen Shami so lean. Got Maxi out with a beautiful ball. Heading into the WC, it's a great sign for India.
Australia captain Aaron Finch: We were about 20 or 30 short. Especially after we lost one wicket, we had to take it deeper. But our bowlers did well, continued taking wickets, and they were really good. If you have a guy go on and get 80, and that's what you are trying to do. Just a bit more attention to detail. We tried our best with the ball. I think our quicks are most effective when they are banging the wicket. There were a few plays-and-misses, but that happens against a great side.
Dhoni finishes unbeaten with 59 runs off 72 balls and Jadhav remains unconquered with 81 runs off 87 balls. India take a 1-0 lead in the five-match ODI series.
Chasing 237, India slipped to 99/4 when Rayudu fell. At that time, Australia were on top. But Dhoni and Jadhav joined hands to revive India's fortunes. Their unbeaten 141-run partnership steers the Men in Blue to a comprehensive triumph.
Dhoni hits the winning runs for India! How often have we seen this from the master chaser! In the end, India cruise to a six-wicket victory and go 1-0 up in the series.
48.1 FOUR! Pat Cummins to MS Dhoni. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, past deep backward point for 4 runs.
Just five runs needed off the last 12 balls. Can Dhoni finish it off in style?
SIX! Jadhav dispatches Coulter-Nile to the stands. A shot of authority from the diminutive right-hander. This maximum all but seals the game for India.
Over 48 | Summary: 1 1 . 1 2 6 Bowler: N Coulter-Nile IND: 232/4(RR 4.83)
47.6 SIX! Nathan Coulter-Nile to Kedar Jadhav. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, well timed over long on for 6 runs.

47.3 Nathan Coulter-Nile to MS Dhoni. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to mid off for no runs, fielded by Finch.
Fifty for Dhoni! 71st ODI half-century for the iconic wicket-keeper batsman. A much needed knock when India were under pressure.

Australia need a flurry of wickets to make this interesting. Dhoni and Jadhav are in cruise control mode at the moment.
