Dhoni: "They bowled well throughout the series but this was an exceptional performance by the spinners. Mishra bowls slow, and has good control over his flight. Virat was superb to start with. There was a point where Rohit had his injury, the message was if you decide to carry on, you should go for your shots. The pitch was difficult to bat on. Considering the dew factor, this was an above par score. I am quite glad that we were able to rest some of the key players. There is plenty that the youngsters would have learnt from this series. Once they start playing more, they can serve for a long time".

Williamson: "270 was a lot above par. India thoroughly deserve the series win. Today we were terrible. We expect a lot from our batting. India has certainly been a better side, and when you play against one of the best sides in these conditions, you learn a lot of lessons. We expected a lot more from ourselves. There are a lot of positives as well. The boys showed a lot of heart on tricky surfaces by improving game-to-game. Tom Latham played superbly in the series. It is about being more consistent".

Mishra: "There was bounce and spin in the wicket, I had a talk with MS Dhoni and Anil Kumble, who told me to bowl with flight and deliver the ball slower. Axar Patel has bowled really well throughout the series. I am really happy with the way I am bowling, I hope I bowl the same way in the future matches".

AMIT MISHRA is the MAN OF THE MATCH and the MAN OF THE SERIES.

ROHIT SHARMA is the JANA BANKABLE PLAYER

The zing bails have lit up. So are the flashlights on the mobiles of the joyous crowd in the stands. The Indian team has clinched the series, winning the decider by a massive 190 runs. At the halfway mark, India seemed to have been about 20-30 runs short of what they looked good in the beginning. Yet, the Indian bowlers, looking an inspired lot, never allowed the Kiwi batsmen to settle down.

The problems against spin were exposed when Amit Mishra started weaving his web around with his wily variations. Axar Patel and debutant Jayant Yadav complemented him well, keeping the pressure on from the other end as Mishra wreaked havoc from one side. In the end, the dismal performance will hurt the tourists as they return back with series losses in both Tests and ODIs.

23.1 OUT! Bowled. Axar Patel to Mitchell Santner. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the back foot pushing, missed. Ok, the ball kept low, but New Zealand have raised the white flag here. They have been blown away. India win the series 3-2.
