Right! That's it from us here at Sportskeeda! Do join us for the 3rd T20I on Sunday as South Africa look to restore parity!

Till then, this is Shashwat Kumar signing off! Goodbye and goodnight!
India take a 1-0 lead in the series!
South Africa started off well courtesy their skipper, de Kock. However, they meandered through the middle phases and that eventually, contributed to them posting a below par total. Though Pretorius and Phehlukwayo tried their best to salvage the situation with a few meaty blows, it proved to be a little too late.

The Indians began like a tearaway train at the outset of their batting innings as Rohit and Shikhar hit their straps. However, they too suffered a middle overs wobble with Shikhar and Pant perishing in quick succession. Yet, like many a time before, Kohli was on hand to steady a slightly creaking ship and lead his side over the line.

Courtesy the victory, India have now taken a 1-0 lead in the series and would be hoping to wrap it up in Bengaluru in a few days' time.
Iyer finishes it with a four!
Iyer gets in on the act and hammers a four past long on's left to complete India's comfortable victory.
Over 19 IND: 151/3(RR 7.95) Bowler: B Fortuin Summary: . 1 1 6 1 4 |
18.6 FOUR! Bjorn Fortuin to Shreyas Iyer. Stock length ball, middle stump down the track driving, well timed past long on for 4 runs.
18.5 Bjorn Fortuin to Virat Kohli. Stock length ball, middle stump on the front foot working, to mid wicket for 1 run, fielded by van der Dussen.
18.4 SIX! Bjorn Fortuin to Virat Kohli. Stock length ball, down leg side down the track Slog, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs.
Kohli releases the pressure!
Kohli jumps down the track and shovels a length delivery over long on to bring the situation under control. Top shot by the skipper. And, India now need only 4 off 8 balls.
18.3 Bjorn Fortuin to Shreyas Iyer. Stock length ball, down leg side on the front foot Slog, inside edge to leg slip for 1 run, fielded by Shamsi.
A couple of dot balls to finish the 18th over, meaning that India still need 12 off the remaining 12 deliveries. Is there a twist in the tale? Don't think that would be the case, especially with Kohli at the wicket.
18.2 Bjorn Fortuin to Virat Kohli. Stock length ball, to leg on the back foot working, to long on for 1 run, fielded by Miller.
18.1 Bjorn Fortuin to Virat Kohli. Stock length ball, off stump down the track driving, mis-timed to silly mid off for no runs, fielded by Fortuin.
Over 18 IND: 138/3(RR 7.67) Bowler: K Rabada Summary: 6 . . 1 . . |
17.6 Kagiso Rabada to Shreyas Iyer. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by de Kock.
17.4 Kagiso Rabada to Virat Kohli. Short, outside off stump on the back foot hooking, to deep backward square leg for 1 run, fielded by Hendricks.
17.3 Kagiso Rabada to Virat Kohli. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, to extra cover for no runs, fielded by Bavuma.
17.2 Kagiso Rabada to Virat Kohli. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot defending, to third slip for no runs, fielded by de Kock.
A six to start off the 18th over!
Rabada drifts onto the pads and Kohli effortlessly clips him into the stands. Two things were quite impressive about that shot. Firstly, it was Rabada bowling and secondly, the boundary isn't particularly short on that side.
17.1 SIX! Kagiso Rabada to Virat Kohli. Length ball, middle stump on the front foot flick, well timed in the air under control over deep square leg for 6 runs.
Over 17 IND: 130/3(RR 7.65) Bowler: A Phehlukwayo Summary: 4 4 1 1 . . |
16.6 Andile Phehlukwayo to Virat Kohli. Length ball, off stump on the front foot working, to deep mid wicket for no runs, fielded by Shamsi.
16.5 Andile Phehlukwayo to Virat Kohli. Yorker, off stump on the front foot driving, to extra cover for no runs, fielded by Bavuma.
16.4 Andile Phehlukwayo to Shreyas Iyer. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, to third man for 1 run, fielded by Pretorius.
16.3 Andile Phehlukwayo to Virat Kohli. Slower length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, to long on for 1 run, fielded by Miller.
Another boundary for Kohli!
After going straight the previous delivery, Kohli scythes the second ball of the over past point to fetch himself another four.
Fifty for Kohli!
Kohli dances down the track and cracks a cover drive past the fielder at long off for four. He reaches his 22nd T20I fifty. Boy, isn't he special!
16.2 FOUR! Andile Phehlukwayo to Virat Kohli. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep point for 4 runs.
16.1 FOUR! Andile Phehlukwayo to Virat Kohli. Back of a length, outside off stump down the track driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs.
Only five runs come off that Fortuin over. India would hope they don't have another over of similar stature. Else, they will unnecessarily invite pressure upon themselves.
Over 16 IND: 121/3(RR 7.56) Bowler: B Fortuin Summary: 1 1 1 . 1 1 |
