That will be all from Sportskeeda's coverage of the second test match between India and Sri Lanka. India continues to extend their winning streak at home and dominate their opponents relentlessly. The next stop for the Indian cricketers is now the IPL. However, international cricket does not stop here. Join us for the coverage of the Women's World Cup and for Australia vs Pakistan test match tomorrow as this is Raghav Tikmany and Shashwat Kumar signing off.
Rohit Sharma (Indian Captain): Yeah, it has been a good run. We set out to accomplish a few things as a team, and we succeeded. We've watched Jadeja improve as a batter, and he continues to do so. He adds to the team's strength while also developing as a bowler. He's also a great fielder, so he's the complete package. Shreyas just continued where he left off in the T20 series with Sri Lanka. He appeared to maintain such form throughout the Test series. He was well aware that he was stepping into the footsteps of Rahane and Pujara, but he had everything he needed. When he starts travelling, he will be in better shape. Rishabh appears to improve with each game he plays. Especially under these circumstances. We saw that last year in the England series, and now we see it again. Rishabh demonstrated his confidence with a few catches and stumpings. (On Ashwin) It was my personal opinion (that he is an all-time great). He puts in match-winning performances whenever we give him the ball. He still has a lot of life left in him. We have a lot of things to look forward to in the coming months. I need to make sure he's in a decent frame of mind. Pink-ball Tests are difficult. We've never experienced what it's like to play with a pink ball in India, but we're learning to adapt. It's much more spectacular because of the crowd.
Rishabh Pant (Player of the Series): I think both scoring runs and keeping wickets make me happy. As a cricketer, it is important to work and improve on both. The wicket was difficult to bat on so I had to bat more quickly than I normally do. If the team management wants me to bat at 5, I will do so. (On keeping improvement) I think it is about confidence and I am working hard and trying to improve every day.
Shreyas Iyer (Player of the Match): Well, definitely taking the spinners on is not my normal approach while facing them on a raging turner but looking at the pitch and how the other batters got out, I had no other choice. I was only trying to keep up with the bowlers. I was on 55 when the tail arrived, and I added 37 more, so I wasn't concerned about missing out on a hundred. We were assigned a target in the second innings, and I was determined to play as many balls as possible. I've always wanted to play Test cricket for India, to play among legends and to contribute at the greatest level. I hope I can maintain that level of consistency in the future."
Dimuth Karunratne (Sri Lanka Captain): If we had won the game, I would have been much happy. I knew I could score a huge one once I got in. We know we're a good squad as a whole. We didn't have enough good starts to take capitalise. We also gave too many loose balls as a bowling team. (On Lakmal) One of the greatest I've ever seen in my professional life. I'm thrilled for him that he'll be playing county cricket, and I'm confident he'll excel there as well.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Axar Patel: I know that the two legends (Ashwin and Jadeja) will do the job. I think about bowling to my strengths whenever I get the opportunity. (How long it takes to assess conditions) If Ash bhai bowls before, we have a chat to him on what we can do. I back my pace and it takes me about one over to understand how to bowl on a particular pitch. I would want to wish him (Ashwin for the IPL) all the best. We had a good bonding at DC and we will miss it.

Ashwin: I am not really giving it a thought on what I want to achieve. Pink ball was a bit of a challenge for this game. It is about being there at the moment, get into the spell and get into a rhythm. I enjoyed my spell today. How I am enjoying my bowling is more important. I thought Ahmedabad pitch was quicker and had more bounce. The number of balls that spun and got the batter caught here was very little. Dimuth batted very beautifully. The wicket was slow and it was a different challenge. (Mendis wicket) I think before that, we were caught in a bit of a whirlwind. All of their shots were coming off. We had a lot of runs on the board and it was about getting the right pace on the pitch. I changed the angle. Not every time it comes off but today it worked.
Sri Lanka - 208 all out ( Karunaratne 107, Ashwin 4-55, Bumrah 3-29) lose by 238 runs against India.

Well, well. Another home series, another dominant performance and yet another whitewash from India. India picked up a huge first-innings lead owing to a Shreyas Iyer masterclass with the bat and Bumrah with the ball. The Indian batters did not slow down in their second innings. Pant and Iyer once again top-scored for their side, setting up a grand target of 446 runs for the visitors.

Sri Lanka showed more fight in their second innings than the first innings. Dimuth Karunratne played one of the best knocks by the visiting batter on Indian soil in recent times only for it to end up on the losing side. Sri Lanka had lost only four wickets till the tea break but India wiped off their lower order in less than one session to register this comprehensive victory. He scored more than 50% of the runs scored by his side.

Bumrah, Axar and Ashwin picked two wickets each post tea. Bumrah's tally included the prized wicket of Karunratne as well. The trio ran a riot, they had a little support from Jadeja who was unlucky with the umpire's call to not get a wicket. Overall, it was a great team effort.
That will be it! Indian win the match by 238 runs!
59.3 R Ashwin to Vishwa Fernando, OUT! THAT WILL BE THAT! Flighted on a length outside off stump and Fernando's eyes light up. He has a massive slog across the line but makes an absolute hash of it. In the end, the ball skews off the toe end of the bat and lobs up towards mid off, where the fielder does the rest and hands Sri Lanka another comprehensive defeat!
59.2 R Ashwin to Vishwa Fernando, tossed up on a length outside off stump. Fernando has a spar at it and sees the ball sneak past the bat and thud into his chest pad
59.1 R Ashwin to Vishwa Fernando, full delivery on middle and off stump. Fernando comes forward and blocks the ball down the ground towards the bowler
A wicket maiden for Bumrah. He has been relentless in this test match, bowling attacking lines, picking wickets and barely even conceding runs. Indian now just one wicket away.

58.6 Jasprit Bumrah to Praveen Jayawickrama, off pace delivery on a length on off stump that rips into the batter. Praveen dangles his bat hoping to survive and just about manages it via his thigh pad
58.5 Jasprit Bumrah to Praveen Jayawickrama, slower delivery on a length just outside off stump. Praveen is flummoxed totally, meaning that the bat and the ball are not even in the same postcode
58.4 Jasprit Bumrah to Praveen Jayawickrama, length delivery slanted into the batter on middle and off stump. Praveen comes forward and taps the ball down the ground
58.3 Jasprit Bumrah to Praveen Jayawickrama, another searing yorker that hones in on off stump. Praveen just about spots it in time and digs the ball out with the toe end of his bat

A class act on display from Bumrah and the Indians. Before even celebrating the wicket, Bumrah rushes straight to Lakmal and congratulates him on an excellent career.
