Harmanpreet Kaur (India captain): We were able to execute whatever we planned. Apart from a few errors here and there, we did really well. We discussed about Deepti's bowler in our team meetings. She was not happy with her performance last game, but she worked well with the bowling coach and has done well today. Richa is a great talent and she is doing well for us. We are ready for our next opponents.

Shemaine Campbelle (West Indies vice-captain): We didn't get as many runs as we were looking for. 150 would have been a good fighting total for us today. (What they need to do to get there) In our batting lineup, the top three have to bat till the end. If they bat through, we'll get the runs we're looking for. (Bowling) Ramharack has been bowling pretty well. It was a good spell from her and we want her to continue. (Matthews injury update) I don't know what it's about yet but we will know shortly.

Deepti Sharma is the Player of the Match. Let's read what she has to say: I feel really good. We discussed our plans in our meetings and I applied that, so I'm really happy. Delighted with the milestone (first Indian bowler to take 100 T20I wickets). That's personally fulfilling but the focus is whatever I can do for the team. The ball was turning, so that helped me a lot. All I had to do was get my lines right and stay wicket-to-wicket.

India coasted to a rather comfortable victory over the West Indies here thanks to belligerent knocks by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh. They started the innings off with a flourish when their openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana got going in style. However, they lost three wickets- that of Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues and Verma soon and looked in a spot of bother.

That is when Kaur and Ghosh got together and bailed their country out of trouble. It was plain sailing as they rotated the strike well and punished the West Indies’ bowlers when they erred. Soon enough, they were within shooting distance of the total and made light work of it in the end.

However, the wicket of Kaur proved to be an anti-climax towards the end of the game. Earlier in the day, Deepti Sharma ensured that the West Indies did not get too many runs on the board. On the way to doing this, she became the first Indian- male or female- to get to 100 wickets in Twenty20 Internationals.

The seamers Renuka Singh and Pooja Vastrakar bagged a wicket apiece. The other spinners in the team contributed too but they could not really get wickets. All in all, it was a clinical performance from the Women in Blue, and one that will give them a lot of confidence, especially after their opening win over Pakistan, making this two in two.

And Ghosh finishes things off Calypso-style! Her pulling abilities will soon enter lore, we strongly believe.

A wicket maiden at this stage of the game! Who would have thought? Chinelle Henry has done well for her own figures and the West Indies' net run rate.
