Commentary

The Bangladeshi fans will surely have a really "good morning" as they wake up to the news of their sides performance back home from Dhaka to Sylhet. They can savor the occasion as this young side have written yet another glorious chapter in their cricketing history. For now, it's Soumarya Dutta, signing off on behalf of Sooryanarayan Sesha. The Blackcaps are now being handed over the trophy and they're the winners of the ODI series by a margin of 2-1

Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh captain: Really proud of the way the boys played this match. We always felt we could win this series and in the last couple of matches we played well but we couldn't finish it. Really happy we won today. The bowlers learnt a lot. We were not looking for a wicket but just bowling the tight lines. I didn't try to smash but I just played my game and focused on my batting process. (On the T20s coming up) This match gives us a lot of confidence but T20s are a different format. We have to plan for that and hopefully the boys will play well there too. We have some plans (during the break) to go some places but we have to keep in mind that we have to play the T20s in the next couple of days.

Tom Latham, New Zealand Captain: We were not able to build any partnerships and Bangladesh did that really well. The thickness of the grass in the wicket made a difference. Bangladesh found some sideways movement and caused us some troubled. We knew they were going to come hard at us and throw us off our lengths. But every time you play a game, you want to learn and the guys have certainly learnt a lot from this series. We have given a chance to as many players as possible.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib is the Player of the match for his sensational spell of 3/14. Here's what he has to say: I'm really happy with my performance. The way I started is really good for me and I really enjoying bowling there. The ball was swinging and seaming there. I liked the way I started and it really set the tone for my team. I tried to bowl wicket to wicket and hold my line and length. The wicket really helped me, it was really good for the pace bowlers. I think about that (line and length). The last game I bowled here and there and this time I had to keep it tight. That's what I thought of and I did it.

Will Young is the Player of the Series. Here's what he has to say: It was tough work. Bit of a shame really, the sun's shining finally and if we had put on a show we could have made a game of it. The ball was swinging and every now and then it was jumping up so it was tough. Nice to get a crack in the ODI format. Was running the drinks in India which was a bit disappointing but nice to come back here and play on some grounds I've been really familiar with and put some runs on the board. You've just got to make the most of the opportunity that comes along and I think that's what this series was about. Managed to score some runs here which was awesome. (On getting to 1000 ODI runs in the calendar year) I didn't know I wondered what the clap was about and Tommy said to me as I was batting with him. Pretty cool accomplishment that and hopefully some more runs to come.

Bangladesh were 2-0 down coming into this game at McClean park and a white-wash was looking very much possible, except for the fact that in reality it turned out to be a "Bangla- Wash". Having bundled out the hosts for a mere 98, the visitors made light work of the run chase and completed the task in just 15 overs.

The ball did swing around a bit in the first few overs but the New Zealand bowlers couldn't bowl the tidy lines like their Bangladesh counterparts. Soumya Sarkar, the hero with the ball had to walk back retired hurt as he had something going into his eyes, and it didn't look good. Anamul Bijoy joined forces with Shanto at the crease at that juncture, and the two batters known as "Lords" put up a classy effort with the bat.

There was a flurry of boundaries early on and that threw the bowlers of their lines. Shanto smashed O'Rourke for four consecutive boundaries, and that pretty much sealed the deal in Bangladesh's favor. The latter did come back with a consolation wicket of Bijoy though it was too late in the end. Litton Das came out to the middle and along with his captain, he finished off the final rights of this game.

Historic scenes here at the McClean Park as the Bangladeshis have finally triumphed over New Zealand in New Zealand in a One Day International. They've won the third ODI by 9 wickets and it has been a dramatic turnaround from them.

15.1 Adithya Ashok to Najmul Hossain Shanto, DONE AND DUSTED! Shanto raises a fifty and secures the win for Bangladesh! Googly outside the off stump as Ashok drops it short. Shanto rocks back to punch it into the gap along the covers before easing back for the second run. What an entertaining knock from the skipper and he caps off a famous and dominant win for his side who have been utterly professional today. Bangladesh secure their first ODI win against the Kiwis on New Zealand soil by 9 wickets. New Zealand still take the series 2-1!
