- New Zealand vs India 2019 3rd T20I

208/6 (20.0 ov)
New Zealand won by 4 runs
Player of the match:
For now, that's it from us at Sportskeeda. Thank you for joining our live coverage and until next time, it's a goodbye from us!
That brings an end to a long away season for India. Barring this T20I series, they've won almost everything. They now have a couple of weeks off before Australia come touring. On the other hand, New Zealand play Bangladesh only a couple of days later.
Kane Williamson collects the trophy and his teammates join him for the cameras. It's been a very competitive series and the Kiwis have done well to win it 2-1.
Tim Seifert is the Man of the Series. He scored 139 runs in 3 innings and was excellent at the top for the hosts.
Colin Munro is the player of the match for his knock of 72.
India started the chase decently despite losing Dhawan in the first over. Vijay Shankar was the aggressor but fell for 43 before Pant came out all guns blazing. However, a couple of quiet overs led to his downfall. Hardik Pandya continued the momentum but Rohit, Pandya and Dhoni were dismissed in the space of 9 deliveries. Dinesh Karthik and Krunal Pandya kept India in the hunt with some lusty blows. But some good execution from Southee and a strange decision from Karthik to deny a single off the third ball off the final over helped New Zealand get over the line.
And New Zealand take the series 2-1. Southee was brilliant in the last over as he defended 16 and executed his plans really well. In the end, the hosts held their nerve and India fell short by 4 runs.
19.6 Wide Tim Southee to Dinesh Karthik. Short, outside off stump on the back foot hooking, missed to wicketkeeper for 1 run, fielded by Seifert.

19.4 Tim Southee to Dinesh Karthik. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed to mid off for 1 run, fielded by Williamson.
That's brave from Karthik! He's denied the single and Krunal is puzzled at the other end. He's striking it beautifully as well. 14 off 3 balls.
19.3 Tim Southee to Dinesh Karthik. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed to long on for no runs, fielded by Mitchell.
19.2 Tim Southee to Dinesh Karthik. Yorker, wide outside off stump moves in front, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Seifert.
14 from 5! DK on strike. He's done it before in the Nidahas Trophy. Can he do it again?

Pandya finishes the over with a maximum. It's down to 16 off the last 6 here!
