So this is just the first loss for New Zealand this summer. But they are still to lose a series. The Blackcaps were simply brilliant in the Test series against West Indies. With Willamson back in the Test squad, the squad would look even better. We should know that New Zealand are now the joint first in the ICC Test rankings. It would have been great had Babar Azam had been fit. That would have been a great dual between the two great batsmen. Williamson for New Zealand and Azam for Pakistan. Hopefully, Azam is fit for the second Test. The first Test is in at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on the Boxing Day. Join us for the action of the first Test.
Kane Williamson is presented the series trophy which he picks in presence of the rest of the squad.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson: Pakistan played really well today. I thought our first inning total was  good. But it is tougher in the second innings and the Pakistan batsmen showed their class. You have to play really well to chase a tough total like that. They had good partnerships and our bowlers found it tough to break them. They executed their plans really well but I guess I am pretty happy with the performance of our guys. It was tough to operate with the dew and one man down, but the boys tried their best. I don't know what the injuries are just yet, but I hope they recover quickly for they are class players. But the guys showed a good attitude, they stuck through it. It has been a really good T20 campaign and I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the Pakistan team for coming to our shores.
Tim Seifert is the Player of the Series: It is good to have a great series with the bat. The main thing is to get the series win. Unfortunately, we couldn't win today and complete the series win. But credit to Pakistan as they played well in this match. In T20 matches, you get a couple of wickets and it is game on. I thought it became easier to bat with the dew coming in. Our bowlers stuck to their work nicely. We had a good T20 series against the West Indies too and then went into the Tests which was awesome to see. I hope the red-ball players can repeat the performance. I am very excited for the Boxing Day Test. We are actually playing against Pakistan A in Hamilton and it is the Super Smash after that.
Pakistan captain Shadab Khan: We won the powerplays here and that is why we won the match. We were winning it in the earlier games too. The way Mohammad Hafeez and Mohammad Rizwan batted it shows the character we have in our team. It was good learning for us.  This is a young team and I have learnt a lot leading them. We made a lot of mistakes in the field and that is where we can improve. The victory would boost the confidence of our Test team as well. Most of our pacers will take confidence into the Test series as well.
Mohammad Rizwan is the Player of the Match: This is a win is good for us. Unfortunately, we lost the series. But this match was important ahead of the Test series. We wanted to take some momentum going into the Test series. It will be a big honour for me to captain Pakistan is Tests. It is a big deal to play the country. I cannot express my happiness at being the skipper. I am thankful to the management that they have trusted me a lot. This was the first time I opened in internationals. I have done this but only in domestic cricket. But I knew I had it in me to perform and was well backed by the management. I dedicate this win is for our supporters as they have backed us a lot.
Pakistan 177/6 after 19.4 overs.  Pakistan win by 4 wickets.

So Pakistan stop New Zealand from completing a clean sweep. Thanks to a 72-run stand between Mohammad Hafeez and Mohammad Rizwan Pakistan were able to negotiate their way to the finish line. Hafeez continued his good form from the previous match and made a steady 41 from 29 balls. Rizwan was great during his stay in the middle as he notched his personal best T20I score of 89 from just 59 balls hitting 10 boundaries and three sixes. There was a slight hiccup towards the end but nothing that could have brought New Zealand back in the game.

Tim Southee and Scott Kuggeleijn picked two wickets each and, Kyle Jamieson and James Neesham had a wicket each to their name. Maybe the absence of Ish Sodhi hurt New Zealand. Sodhi was injured after bowling just one over and could not take the field anymore. Bowling second was difficult as there was due on the ground and it was becoming tough for the Blackcaps bowlers to grip the ball well.

Earlier, Pakistan asked New Zealand to bat first, the Blackcaps would be happy with the total. New Zealand openers Martin Guptill and  Tim Seifert were off to a flying start. Guptill was sent back by Haris Rauf and then Faheem Ashraf struck with the ball. He first removed Kane Williamson and then was quick to pick the wicket of Seifert. New Zealand at one stage were 58/3 in 7.2 overs and it looked like Pakistan are finally getting their act together in the series. There was a good 50-run partnership between Glenn Phillips and Devon Conway. That partnership helped New Zealand turn things around. Conway almost stuck till the end of the inning to get to his half-century and take New Zealand to a good total.

Faheem Ashraf was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan as he picked three wickets. Haris Rauf picked two wickets. But the rest of the bowlers were just ordinary. Pakistan were also poor in the field too
BOOOOOOOMMMM! No Super Over needed
19.4 Kyle Jamieson to Iftikhar Ahmed, SIX! WHAT A HIT! Short ball outside off-stump and Iftikhar has pulled this one away over the square-leg boundary and out of the park. PAK win by 4 wickets!
Pakistan need 3 runs from 3 balls. Super Over ?????
19.3 Kyle Jamieson to Iftikhar Ahmed, short ball cut away straight to the fielder at backward point by Iftikhar. Dot ball! Pressure building on Pakistan!
Would you believe it!!!!!!!!! This match is not over yet. Pakistan has let the match slip.
19.2 Kyle Jamieson to Mohammad Rizwan, OUT! CAUGHT! Short ball outside off-stump gets some extra bounce and Rizwan trying to pull that one away skies it high in the air and Conway takes a good catch to send Rizwan back.
Pakistan need 3 runs from 5 balls.
19.1 Kyle Jamieson to Iftikhar Ahmed, full-length ball on off-stump and it's driven to sweeper covers for a single this time.
Iftikhar Ahmed is on strike. He should give the strike to Rizwan.
Jamieson to bowl the last over of the match.
Two wickets and seven runs from the over. Pakistan need 4 runs from 6 balls.
