Sophie Devine, New Zealand's captain: Today was a lot about following the process and not get too ahead of us. We knew for a long time that we had the skills and talent, but it was about putting it out there while executing it, and today's performance showed that. Our spin bowling group has improved over the last few months. We learn on the go, but there are a lot of positives for us to take away from this. We can only control what we can control, so we are looking forward to our next game.

Nigar Sultana Joty, Bangladesh's captain: I think we are much more capable than what we displayed today. Our girls are very talented, and we can do much better than what we did today. We gave away too many runs with the ball and that is what let us down. We did not do well in the powerplays and that is what turned out to be crucial. There were some good individual performances, especially that of Shorna.

Suzie Bates is definitely the Player of the Match! Here's what she has to say: Cricket can be a cruel game, the way I personally start the world up and the team started the world up was disappointing, we had a tough day after South Africa, I stuck to the plan of hitting down the ground but it's nice to bounce back as a group and a convincing one. It's tough especially in the world cup, I did exactly what we talked about as a batting group, as a senior player of this team, it's important we stepped up, it's more important to contribute to the team. (About being the top run scorer in the T20 World Cups) Didn't know that, I've been around for a long time disappointed the way we started, that's the nature of world cups, if you don't start well, you try to play the catch up game. Something in the future, I'll look back and really proud of but right now, doing what we can to reach the semi-finals but it'll be disappointing if we don't make it. That's nice to post the score, play the way we wanted to play, trying to produce that as often as we can as a group.

New Zealand coasted to a rather comfortable victory here although Bangladesh ran them pretty close. Sophie Devine’s girls will be hoping that this win kickstarts their campaign in the World Cup.

This will also serve as a warning to other sides and showcase that New Zealand have well and truly arrived. Molly Penfield and Hannah Rowe were fantastic with the ball in hand, with the latter finishing with 2 wickets.

The spinners of New Zealand were also on top of their game. Eden Carson and Amelia Kerr gave away very little width for the batters of Bangladesh to free their arms, and their skipper Devine will be extremely proud of them.

Earlier in the day, Suzie Bates led the way for a brilliant New Zealand batting performance, assisted ably by Maddy Green and Bernadine Bezezuidenhout. This will give them a lot of confidence.

New Zealand have got on a roll now, and it is unfortunate that Bangladesh had to be the recipients of this carnage. All in all, an enjoyable outing for Sophie Devine's girls tonight.
