We don't have big names in the squad, but the trust is there among each and every one in the team. (Translated by Chamari Athapaththu).

Chamari Athapaththu (Captain, Sri Lanka): Lots of pressure in the middle, handled it well as I had good bowlers and backed my bowlers, young Kaveesha stuck to her plans. We changed the batting order, Anushka came up the order, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. After 14 years, were in the Asia Cup final, feels good. Wicket was really good, first six overs, they batted really well, we stuck to our plans, after six overs, it's not easy to find boundaries, we knew we had the skill and bowling to do well. Kaveesha is young, she's played some good cricket, dropped the catch but nailed the run-out.

Bismah Maroof (Captain, Pakistan): It was a good match, both the teams have played some good cricket and hopefully good entertainment for the fans. Was a good wicket, had controlled well in the middle, came close and didn't get over the line. Didn't back ourselves well in the end, Sri Lankan bowlers bowled well in the end. It was clinical performance from us, proud of the players after that loss against Thailand, look forward to future.

Sri Lanka win by 1 run and progress to the final of the 2022 Women's Asia Cup!

The Sri Lankans dance around in a circle, arm around each other! The integrity and unity of these Sri Lankan sides are so, so heartwarming! Aliya Riaz is in tears, the entire Pakistan cricket team are in disbelief, they had this cricket match by the scruff of the neck until the final over of the match, the lack of boundaries throughout the middle overs turn out to be the decisive factor in them not being able to kill off the game! The Sri Lankan spinners have done a tremendous job, picking any one of them as the player of the match might not do justice to the others! Achini Kulasuriya might have missed her yorker on an occasion or so, but she must be given credit to the manner in which she kept hitting the right areas and not let either one of Dar or Riaz clear the in-field itself!

The start to the run-chase was in favour of the Pakistanis, as Muneeba Ali and Sidra Ameen got them off to a bright start. Unfortunately for Muneeba, the Pakistan wicket-keeper slipped on her way back after being denied a run, and she was run out. With Sidra Ameen's departure, the Lankans were handed a tinge of hope, and with the overs breezing by one after the other without being too expensive, the hope just kept increasing ball after ball. The Sri Lankan spinners, collectively, kept tight lines, and there was a lack of urgency among the Pakistan middle-order batters to kill the game off in the middle-overs itself. They just kept milking those singles, Maroof eventually broke the shackles towards the end, but she played all around one from Sugandika Kumari and the game seemed to open up.

Having breezed through quietly throughout the afternoon, there was a burst of drama and interest as the game drew towards a close. Pakistan still had some firepower to bank on, but little did they know what was to come. On a sluggish track, hitting from the word go proved to be a challenge, something young Ayesha Naseem found out the hard way. Inoka Ranaweera bowled a gem of a penultimate over, conceding 4 off it, and Pakistan were left to chase 9 off the last over. Kulasuriya hardly gave much to hit to the two Pakistan batters, and in trying to hit big, they kept finding the fielders and missing. The end to the game was more chaotic than everything that took place throughout the game combined, Dar was put down by Dilhari but she more than made up for it by firing a throw at the keeper's just about in time, and Sanjeewani dived onto the stumps for her life and sparked wild celebrations!

SRI LANKA HAVE PULLED OFF A HEIST! Look at them, just look at them run around all over the place, absolutely cock-a-hoop! Nida Dar is on her haunches, Pakistan had this game well until the 19th over, but the Sri Lankans, there's just something about them and the big occasions, both from the men's and women's teams! They have beaten Pakistan in the semi-finals, and will now face up against India in the final!

Nida Dar down on her haunches and in disbelief, they just cannot believe it. Low full toss on the stumps, Dar backs away and looks to loft it over the inner ring, extra-cover running back spills it, Dar looks to come back for an improbable second, was a wide throw but the keeper does well to collect and whips the bails off as Dar finds herself well short and Sri Lanka to meet India in the Asia Cup finals on Saturday!
