Johnson Charles (Man of the Match): Feels great. Always it's good to win the first match. We want to push the momentum now and win the second one. I want to build partnerships as the wickets were falling at the other end. We were up against world-class bowlers so we have to bat carefully. The people are cheering for you and supporting you and I am always thankful to play at the Darren Sammy Cricket ground
St.Lucia Kings beat Jamaica Tallawahs by 2 wickets Johnson Charles 62(39) | Raymon Reifer 62(41) Scott Kuggeleijn 3-44 | Imad Wasim 2-15(4)
Turned out to be a thrilling match and eventually, the Kings held their nerve and edged past the Tallawahs, much to the delight of the crowd. Mohammad Amir got rid of Niroshan Dickwella and Faf du Plessis in the same over to put the Kings on the backfoot straightaway but Johnson Charles stayed firm at the other end and took the responsibility
The Kings were reduced to 39-4 but the partnership between Charles and David bailed them out of trouble. Imad Wasim was bowling superbly as he got the big wicket of Tim David but Charles made sure to keep the scoreboard ticking by scoring boundaries at regular intervals.
Charles charged Reifer for a couple of sixes and a boundary but also got out in the same over to create tension in the building. But important contributions came from Wiese, Joseph and even from Kuggeleijn at the backend as the Kings managed to register their first points of the season
19.5 Raymon Reifer to David Wiese, Here comes the winning runs and finally St. Lucia Kings get their first win in the tournament. The celebration begins in the stands. Fuller delivery into the pads, Wiese clips it down to deep mid-wicket and goes to the other end
19.4 Raymon Reifer to Scott Kuggeleijn, yorker length delivery angling across off, Kuggeleijn jams it down to the off-side and takes a single. Scores are level now
19.3 Raymon Reifer to Scott Kuggeleijn, FOUR! Low full toss angling across, Kuggeleijn creams the drive firmly past extra cover and it races to the fence. Some of the fans in the stands are jumping in joy already
19.2 Raymon Reifer to David Wiese, low full toss angling across off, Wiese punches it down to extra cover and takes a run
19.2 Raymon Reifer to David Wiese, fuller delivery going outside the tramline. Wide called
19.1 Raymon Reifer to Alzarri Joseph, OUT! Pin drop silence at the Darren Sammy Cricket ground. This one was pitched up in the slot, Joseph mistimes his shot while trying to go straight down the ground. It comes off the toe and Rovman Powell takes a simple catch at long-on
19.1 Raymon Reifer to Alzarri Joseph, WIDE! Reifer is facing the pressure already. Slow delivery goes outside the tramline and it's wide signalled

18.6 Migael Pretorius to Alzarri Joseph, drags the length back, around off stump, Joseph heaves it down to deep mid-wicket and takes a single
18.5 Migael Pretorius to Alzarri Joseph, SIX! HUMONGOUS! Pretorius misses the yorker this time as it ended up in the hitting arc around off-stump, Joseph stands in his crease and thumps it over cow corner.
18.4 Migael Pretorius to David Wiese, another beautiful yorker angling on middle and leg, Wiese jams his bat down and it rolls down to long-on. Single taken
18.3 Migael Pretorius to David Wiese, right in the blockhole angling in, Wiese tries to clip this but it hits his toe and ricochets back to the bowler
18.2 Migael Pretorius to Alzarri Joseph, pitched up delivery on middle stump, Joseph flicks it uppishly towards deep square leg for a single
