As dominant a performance by the Indians with Renuka Singh Thakur setting it up with the new ball. The post-Mithali Raj era has started off on a positive note for the Indians and they will look to keep it going while having their eyes set on a 3-0 sweep come the final one-dayer. As for Sri Lanka, they have loads to ponder over ahead of the last game where they will look to salvage some pride.

Renuka Singh Thakur is the Player of the Match for her match-winning spell of 4/28 off 10 overs. Here's what she has to say: I've been working on my strengths. I've been working hard in the practice sessions and have focused a lot my variations. Hitting the hard lengths has worked here for me. We read the wicket this morning and we wanted to bowl since the weather was in our favor. With the movement on offer we were able to pick up those early wickets. The coach and the captain told me to work on my strengths and back them.

Harmanpreet Kaur (India Captain): We have been talking about long partnerships and I'm very happy we were able to put one. When you play back-to-back games it's important to keep yourself motivated and give a complete performance. That's what we did and I'm happy with the way we started with the ball. The way we batted was outstanding to watch. It's very important to keep all your bowling options available and whenever I've called upon them they've provided the breakthrough.

Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka captain: Yeah, India bowled really well in the first 10 overs, we could have done better. We were below par with the ball and catches going down are unacceptable. We need to improve when it comes to running between the wickets, two run-outs in a match is not a good sign. Hopefully, I can bat longer in the next match, will try my best.

A walk in the park like none other! If the first victory was comprehensive, one must coin a whole new term altogether for the sheer annihilation that the Indians dished out today. It was Renuka Singh Thakur who led the way with the new ball again, wrecking the Lankan top-order. The hosts never recovered thereafter and could only muster a modest 173.

With the wicket offering little to nothing for either the spinners or the seamers in the second innings, Smriti Mandhana duly cashed in. Starved of a big score for a while now, the Indian vice-captain made hay with the sun shining down brightly. She unleashed some of her trademark short-arm jabs and drove straight down the ground when required as well, sauntering along without a fuss on the way.

At the other end was a much more measured Shafali Verma (at least by her usual standards). She took her time initially and while a couple of catching opportunities were left unconverted by the Sri Lankans, the right-handed prodigy made it count with her fourth ODI half-century.

Eventually, all that remained were the last rites and the impending question mark as to whether Mandhana would be able to get to her ton. It was a case of so close, yet so far in that regard, as she ended up stranded on an unbeaten 98. Nevertheless, neither she nor the rest of the Indian camp will complain after a professional display. As complete a contest as they come and India have pocketed the series with a game to spare!

They do take the single in the end and the contest comes to a close. Mandhana falls short of her ton but jeez, that was a decimation of some kind alright. India cruise past Sri Lanka by 10 wickets with 146 deliveries to spare and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series!
