Update 3:20 PM IST: And the inevitable has happened - the match has been called off! Play has been abandoned due to rain. Both teams get one point each.
Update 3:05 PM IST: Bad news, folks! The rain is back and the pitch is under covers.
Brisbane Heat 147/6 in 13 overs

Michael Neser 45 | Colin Munro 38

The Heat have 147 thanks to a ridiculously small ground at North Sydney Oval. One boundary is just 48-metres long and a yorker was lapped all the way over that fence.

Earlier Colin Munro set the pace with 6 sixes before Steve O'Keefe got him. The wily old fox finished with a three-fer and a had a catch dropped as well.

The Heat kept losing wickets but Michael Neser played a blinder at the end to take the total over 140.

If the rain stays away, could be a great chase this. We will be back shortly for the chase.

Stay tuned for further updates.

12.6 Hayden Kerr to Michael Neser, SIX TO FINISH THE INNINGS! Neser runs off the field a very happy man indeed, having just notched up his highest T20 score ever! Full on middle and leg, Neser flicks it away uppishly to deep square leg for a MAXIMUM! The Brisbane Heat run up 147/6 in 13 overs!
12.5 Hayden Kerr to Nathan McSweeney, fullish on middle, Nathan flicks this away uppishly to deep midwicket for a run.
12.4 Hayden Kerr to Michael Neser, yorker outside off, prods it to short third for a run.
12.3 Hayden Kerr to Michael Neser, yorker on leg, Neser somehow keeps it out and steers it to deep square leg for a couple!
12.2 Hayden Kerr to Michael Neser, FOUR MORE! FINE SHOT! Full down the legside, Neser merely flicks it away nonchalantly wide of the fielder at short fine leg for a boundary! That was a shot that a top order batter can be proud of.
12.1 Hayden Kerr to Michael Neser, FOUR! SHOT! Full on middle and leg, Neser gets into position early and scoops it over short fine leg for a boundary! Neser is doing extremely well for himself here.
Looks like the rain has passed which is good news. Can the Heat get to 145?

11.6 Chris Jordan to Michael Neser, full and wide outside off, Neser drills it to wide of cover for a run to end the over and retain strike!
11.5 Chris Jordan to Nathan McSweeney, yorker on middle, Nathan keeps it out somehow and works it to deep midwicket for a run.
11.4 Chris Jordan to Michael Neser, full and wide outside off, Neser drills it to long off for a run.
11.3 Chris Jordan to Michael Neser, FOUR AGAIN! TOO WIDE FOR THE KEEPER! At a length on middle and leg, seams back in as Neser pulls it away and gets a faint nick just wide of the keeper Josh Philippe for a boundary to fine leg!
11.2 Chris Jordan to Michael Neser, FOUR THIS TIME! NESER WILL NOT STOP! Fullish on off and middle, Neser clears his front leg and smacks it back past the bowler for a boundary! Jordan is shocked by this shot from Neser.
11.1 Chris Jordan to Michael Neser, SIX! CALYPSO-STYLE SHOT! Full and wide outside off, Neser clears his front leg, hangs back in the crease and lofts it over the extra cover fielder from the backfoot and sends it for a MAXIMUM!
