Right then. Great scenes at the Manuka Oval with the players going over to the fans for their support. This game didn't have a lot on the line with both sides languishing at the bottom end of the table but it's the Renegades who have the last laugh. You'd expect a bit of fireworks and fight when the bottom two teams go up against each other but it was far from it in this game. It was a one-sided contest throughout with the Renegades in control, cruising to an 8-wicket win with their captain leading from the front.

It was the bowlers who set up the win though, dismantling a solid Sydney Thunder batting unit. Restricting them to 95 after opting to bowl first was half the job done right there and then. It seemed like there might be an early stutter for the Renegades when Athapaththu was dismissed in the first over.

However, Hayley Matthews took it upon herself to see her side through to the finish line. It was a dominant performance by her side in all departments, brushing away the Sydney Thunder and getting two points to overtake them on the points table. Webb and Dooley played their part in the run chase too, sealing the deal for the Renegades.
