Scorecard
NYS won by 27 runs.
Player of the match: Akeal Hosein

Turned out to be a one-sided contest in the end. Chennai Braves lacked experienced batters in the middle order and that was one of the main reasons for their downfall tonight. But having said that, the Strikers dictated terms with the ball and made it difficult for the Braves. We have another triple header tomorrow, make sure to follow the live updates on our Sportskeeda page. Until next time, this is Pragadeesh and Arya signing off
Kieron Pollard: Last game we were short with the bat but this time we performed well to post a score of nearly 100 on this wicket.  We have to back the bowlers. Last night after we lost we have spoken about what we could've done better with the ball and the bowler stepped in today. It's a quick tournament and there is no space for any relaxation
Akeal Hosein (Man of the match): There was a lot of grass on this wicket but I didn't expect it to spin but it did. I have a game plan and try to execute the line and length. We have a good leader and we talk about tactics. As a bowler it's very stressful but we have to enjoy the challenge
New York Strikers won by 27 runs
Paul Stirling 32(15) | Carlos Brathwaite 22(14)
Akeal Hosein 2-6(2) | James Fuller 3-15(2)

A mighty hit to end the match, but it's of no use. The Strikers looked a better team throughout the match as they emerged victorious with no fuss. Akeal Hosein did the damage in the powerplay as he got rid of the openers, and the Strikers stamped their authority with the ball in the middle overs too

Jordan Thompson plagued the batters with sheer pace and made sure that his team was halfway near the finish line when he knocked Sikander Raza's stumps over. In the end, the partnership between Brathwaite and Arvind only helped the team to reduce the deficit of the defeat
Jordan Thompson: We probably missed out on a few things yesterday. We will take confidence from today. Its about tomorrow and this will give us confidence. Maybe a couple of drinks, enjoying the football. We can always trust in Pollard and the big guys to chip. We have an experienced bowling attack and it paid off.

9.6 Wahab Riaz to Vriitya Aravind, SIX!!!! Aravind finishes it off well. That was sliding down the leg side and Aravind uses the pace of the bowler to flick it well over the deep fine leg boundary. Still a comprehensive victory for the New York Strikers. The trend of teams winning after batting first continues.
9.5 Wahab Riaz to Vriitya Aravind, good-length delivery a shade outside off angling across Aravind. He goes for an expansive drive on the up and is beaten.
9.4 Wahab Riaz to Carlos Brathwaite, short angling down the leg. Pulled away by Brathwaite towards the deep backward square leg region for a single.
9.3 Wahab Riaz to Carlos Brathwaite, an exceptional slower delivery this time. On the surface a tad outside off and Brathwaite was shaping up for the swipe across the line. Couldn't quite pick that.
9.2 Wahab Riaz to Carlos Brathwaite, a bit of extra bounce on that occasion and Brathwaite is beaten. Tries to steer this back of a length delivery towards the third man area.
9.1 Wahab Riaz to Carlos Brathwaite, FOUR!!! powerful start to the final over by Brathwaite but all too little too late. A length delivery a shade outside off, Brathwaite clears his front leg and clobbers this down towards the widish long-off fence.
Wahab Riaz to bowl the final over of the match

8.6 Ravi Rampaul to Vriitya Aravind, FOUR!!! that has been nicely played by Aravind. Short of a length delivery a shade outside off. A poor option from Rampaul with the fielders inside the circle down the square on the off side. Cuts it over them to find the boundary.
8.5 Ravi Rampaul to Vriitya Aravind, a quick full delivery outside off. Aravind had given himself a lot of room and couldn't quite get it away.
8.4 Ravi Rampaul to Carlos Brathwaite, on a length around off. Brathwaite gets an inside edge towards the short fine leg region for a single.
8.3 Ravi Rampaul to Vriitya Aravind, slower fuller-length delivery a shade outside off. Aravind throws the kitchen sink at it and ends up slicing that down towards the deep point region and has enough time to return for three runs.
8.2 Ravi Rampaul to Vriitya Aravind, FOUR!!! clever batting by Vrithya Aravind. A slower delivery on a hard-length around off. Aravind makes some room and carves it away with finesse just over the backward point fielder and finds the boundary.
8.1 Ravi Rampaul to Vrithya Aravind, a quick back of a length delivery around off tangling Aravind for room. He tries to nudge it away towards third man but is beaten.
