That brings us to the end of our coverage of what has been a cricket match for the history books. The United Arab Emirates, having claimed a first-ever victory over New Zealand, have taken the 3-match T20I series into a decider, which will be played tomorrow. Aayan Afzal Khan is the Player Of The Match! Here's what he has to say: I was sleeping today instead of having breakfast (Chuckles all around). The plan was to do well on a big game, and we pulled through. The first wicket was my favourite, I believe that it was a great delivery. Moreover, it was a crucial wicket, and it came in the powerplay. I need to keep doing well in future, the plan for us youngsters is to take UAE higher up the ranks. Ahmed Sir has provided a lot of support to us. We want to take UAE higher and beat strong teams a lot more often. We have big players in Muhammad Waseem, Asif Khan, they are our key players. They scored runs today, and so, we won.

Muhammad Waseem [UAE captain]: First of all, thanks to the almighty, we wanted to win better today, that was the dream always. I had told during Asif's debut, he's a quality player and he has the experience and he finished the game for us. I always have trusted Aayan Khan, he's the star of UAE, doesn't bog down under pressure.

Tim Southee [New Zealand captain]: It's the beauty of the sport, lot of the credit should go to UAE and they outplayed us in all departments and that happens in a format like T20, we didn't learn from our mistakes from yesterday and we made more mistakes compared to yesterday. Drops catches are part of the game, when Waseem was playing like that, he's a quality player and makes it harder, he made us pay for it in the end. We just need to be better tomorrow in all three areas, the beauty of it is, we turn up again and need come back better to tomorrow.

The United Arab Emirates needed just a couple more ingredients to cook up something really special for world cricket to witness tonight. They needed to contain New Zealand to a score under 150, and their middle-order to step up in the run-chase, two factors that went against their way in the series opener. They went on to obtain both those ingredients - Ali Naseer, Muhammad Jawadullah and Zahoor Khan provided the goods with the ball, and Asif Khan played an innings worth a story for his grandchildren!

New Zealand came out all guns blazing, trying to make a match out of a low but tricky target. Tim Southee got Aryansh Sharma to nick to slip first over itself. He and Ben Lister kept things tight in the first couple of overs, but then, the duo of Vriitya Aravind and Muhammad Waseem cut loose. Aravind was the more aggressive of the duo early on - the young wicket-keeper went on to make the most of the powerplay with some audacious, dismissive and authoritative stroke-play before departing off the penultimate delivery of the 6th over.

Muhammad Waseem then went on to take the mantle of attacking from thereon. Having survived a couple of dropped chances, the UAE skipper made sure to make the most of it. Thanks to a belligerent half-century from him, UAE climbed onto the driver's seat as the required rate dropped under 6. The job was only half-done by then, though, UAE still needed their middle-order to get the job done.

Asif Khan went on to provide them with the goods. He along with Basil Hameed nudged it around for ones and twos, kept a cautious approach while shortening the equation all along, and once it closed in on the teens, Asif decided to take on the New Zealand skipper and finish the job within the 16th over. He went on to do just that, and UAE have taken the series to a decider!

Asif Khan punches the air in delight! Both the batters pose for celebrations, having guided UAE to possibly one of their most memorable moments in their cricketing history! It never looked like a big deal for them throughout the run-chase - as if this was meant to happen at least once in the series!

15.4 Tim Southee to Asif Khan, FOUR! UAE CREATE HISTORY! First ever win against New Zealand and this will go down in the history books. They missed out in the first game, but they left no stones unturned in the second as they square the series 1-1 here! What a shot to finish the game, thumping win this as well as Asif played a blinder. Short into the batter, Asif dispatched it to deep mid-wicket for a boundary to seal the game. What a moment for UAE this!
