It was tight at the end, but Australia's calculated aggression and that big-hitting intent saw them through. A thrilling start to the series, and a confident win for the visitors! From Meeth Agrawal and Bidipto Datta, it's been an absolute pleasure bringing you all the action from Sabina Park. Thank you for joining us!

Mitchell Marsh (Australia Captain): Yeah, really good performance to enter the series. The West Indies certainly put us under pressure at the start, but a good comeback with the ball in last 5 overs. Then, with the bat, the young boys really did the job for us in the middle. I think all the lads stuck to their plans well, and it showed that they've played a lot of T20 cricket. Ben Dwarshuis was fantastic, and honestly, all the boys did well. It really just comes down to execution in this format. Good to start with a win. Any time you see a young kid come in and perform like that for Australia, it's just really exciting, and I'm genuinely pumped for Owen. We'll try to create an environment where he can do that for us again. Overall, with our bowling, we focused on keeping things tight. Guys like Ellis and Zampa really contributed there. That bowling performance at the back end of their innings was crucial, and then with the bat, we kept our intent despite losing wickets.

Shai Hope (West Indies Captain): It didn't go as planned, but there are a lot of positives for us. We let ourselves down in the batting department, especially with the kind of middle-order power we have. The guys were perhaps trying a little bit too hard; we need to understand the situation better. We can't really falter like that. Australia has very strong strikers of the ball, so as bowlers, we need to put more pressure on them and execute our plans well.

Mitchell Owen (Player of the Match, 50 off 27 balls and 1/14 in 1 over): "Firstly, I'm happy to contribute to the win and then, to score a half-century on debut and join two big Australian names, was special! Hopefully, I keep going like this. It has been a nice few months for me. I tried to swing hard and keep myself confident."

They had to dig deep, but Australia put on an absolutely dominating six-hitting show to get there, smashing a staggering 17 sixes in their chase of 190. You just had to see it to believe it!

The real turning point? That incredible 80-run fifth-wicket partnership between Cameron Green and young Mitchell Owen. Both registered their quickfire fifties, close to a strike rate of 200. But the knock was particularly special for Owen, playing on his T20I debut. Earlier, he took the crucial wicket of half-centurion Shai Hope, which really ignited the Windies collapse. Now, a fifty on debut makes him only the third Australian to achieve that feat in T20Is!

However, it was a pivotal turning point with the ball that truly set up the win for Australia. The Windies were absolutely cruising, looking set for a total close to 210-220 thanks to fifties from Roston Chase and Shai Hope. But the Aussies staged a remarkable comeback, with the Windies losing 5 wickets for just 23 runs in the last 4 overs, restricting them to 189. Ben Dwarshuis was the star, picking up three wickets in the penultimate over to finish with a superb 4/36, his best bowling figures in T20I cricket!

For the Windies, Gudakesh Motie also chipped in with 2/29, but it wasn't enough to stop the Aussie juggernaut.
