Nice and cool this morning, there were showers early in the morning. We have an uninterrupted day's play ahead. If you're bowling from the Pavilion End, it's 69 meters straight back over the bowler's head. Across to the eastern side it's 67 meters, west 70 meters. No assistance from the spinners on these Warner Park decks as we saw in the first game. Same wicket as a couple days ago. Looks a bit brown coloured, there's still some grass on it. First 15-20 overs could be tricky for batters. Won't be as quick, the ball might hold on the deck. Average winning first innings score is 310, teams batting first will need to score somewhere in that vicinity, reports Samuel Badree and Sir Curtly Ambrose.

Commentary

That brings us to the end of our coverage from this second ODI between West Indies and Bangladesh. It was a clinical performance from the hosts to take a 2-0 unassailable lead in the 3 match series. They will definitely look to make a clean sweep while Bangladesh have pride to play for in the final ODI. Lots of cricketing action lined up tomorrow as well. Shai Hope (West Indies captain): Very pleased. The guys turned it around in the powerplay with the ball. Great to see Jayden turn things around today and the wickets really helped us. Yeah for sure. Definitely, we analyse our game whether we win or lose. The guys bounced back strongly. We keep ticking boxes everyday. We need to improve each day. It was pretty clinical. We might have lost a couple more wickets. That was a challenge put to the boys to win the series. He bowled pretty well. In his first over he got a nick. It wasn't a case who bowled badly. He has been bowling well for a long time at the domestic level so it was nice to see him have a good run. He also got his first wicket. Every game is very important for direct World Cup qualification and the guys are aware of that.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Bangladesh captain): I think we didn't bat well in the middle overs. We lost back to back wickets which cost us.Mahmudullah and Sakib played really well. They bowled really well. Credit goes to Seales. We didn't get enough runs in the start. We still believed we could come back but 227 wasn't a good enough score. 300+ is a must on this type of a wicket. We bowled really well in the first 10 overs. Rana bowled really well. We could be better in some areas. It's always hard for bowlers when you get 227 on a pitch like this.

Jayden Seales is the Player of the Match, here is what he has to say: "I am really pleased with how I bowled today. In the first game, it did not go my way. I adjusted my lines and length and made them play to my terms. (With Alzarri missing,) I knew I would have a bigger role today. I was not looking do anything special, just looking to hit the right areas. That is the same advice I gave to the debutant (Marquino Mindley)."

It turned out to be an easy run chase for West Indies as they ended up winning by 7 wickets and with 79 deliveries to spare to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three match ODI series against Bangladesh. The score of 227 was below par on a pitch which looked an absolute belter. The West Indies openers Brandon King and Evin Lewis came out to start the chase. King looked in good touch from the outset and collected three boundaries from the first two overs for Shoriful Islam and Tanzid Hasan Sakib.

Evin Lewis struggled to get going at the other end and ate up a lot of deliveries in the powerplay. King kept finding the boundaries pretty consistently. Lewis took some time but got into his groove of a Tanzim Sakib over where he pummeled 16 runs. Lewis started finding the boundaries and there wasn't any pressure on the Windies openers whatsoever. They never really allowed the required rate to climb and scored 109 runs from the first 20 overs of the chase.

The partnership was going great guns and there seemed no answers from the Bangladesh bowlers. However Evin Lewis suffered a nasty blow on the box of the bowling of Nahid Rana and was absolutely dazed after the blow. He took a considerable amount of time to regather himself and was dismissed almost immediately. He struck a six of Nahid but Rishad Hossain prized him out in the next over.

Out came Keacy Carty at No 3 and looked comfortable right from the outset. King and Carty tried to assert their authority on the Bangladesh bowlers and kept on scoring runs at a brisk pace. King in particular took the charge and smashed 8 fours and 3 sixes during his knock of 82 came off just 76 deliveries.

Nahid kept steaming in and castled King with a searing yorker. He was way too late in that shot which resulted in his downfall. Carty looked very comfortable out in the middle while Shai Hope also started well. Carty was eventually dismissed by the part time bowler Afif Hossain. Sherfane Rutherford and Shai Hope joined hands and ensured that West Indies chased down the total without any further hiccups.

Rutherford has finished it off in style and West Indies have won the series here with a match to spare. Their first ODI series win against Bangladesh since drubbing them 3-0 way back in 2014. West Indies will overjoyed with the all-round performance.
