AEW Dynamite Live Results (April 17, 2024): Chris Jericho humiliated, The Elite in action, Backstage attack, Former WWE Champion RETURNS!!

Joe mocks Nana and Strickland takes advantage with a kick from behind. He then hits the House Call, but Joe gets up. Samoa Joe hits the Muscle Buster to end the show. He stands tall with the AEW World Title.

Can't wait for this explosive matchup at Dynasty.

Samoa Joe comes out surrounded by security. Swerve takes all the officials out with a Swerve Stomp. The two have a staredown before Joe attacks Swerve.

Swerve Strickland comes out to the ring with Prince Nana. He brings up Samoa Joe getting laid out last week. Swerve says Joe knows he will be defeated at Dynasty.

Will Ospreay is not pleased with Don Callis Family's actions and walks to the backstage area alone. The BCC members stand tall in the ring.

Post-match, Don Callis Family attack Claudio, but Jon Moxley makes the saves and chases them away.

Towards the end of the match, Will Ospreay counters the Giant Swing and takes Claudio Castagnoli down with a tornado splash. He then hits the Hidden Blade for the win.

Ospreay looks for the Oscutter, but Claudio catches him and gets a two-count. Will Ospreay drops Claudio Castagnoli with a Spanish Fly, but gets dropped with an uppercut for a two-count.

Ospreay connects with some kicks. After some back-and-forth, Claudio hits an uppercut, but Ospeay counters the Ricola Bomb for a two-count.

Ospreay counters and gets a two-count with a roll up. Ospreay gets a two-count on Claudio with a Tiger Driver in the middle of the ring.

Ospreay connects with some kicks and gets a two-count with a backslide. He then applies a sharpshooter. Claudio applies the Boston Crab and transitions into a cross face.

Ospreay makes his comeback with kicks and unique high-flying moves. Ospreay with a kick in the corner and he follows up with a springboard forearm shot.

Ospreay and Claudio get some moves in, but the BCC gets the upperhand. Claudio Castagnoli whips Will Ospreay in the corner and follows up with an elbow drop for a two-count.

The two exchange some strikes before Ospreay connects with the Deja Vu to send Claudio on the outside. He looks for a dive, but Claudio catches him and slams him on the apron.

Back in the ring, Claudio Castagnoli stops Will Ospreay and stomps on him. He then hits a backbreaker and looks to wear Ospreay down.

The action spills to the outside and Claudio slams Ospreay onto the barricades. Claudio whips Ospreay, but the latter comes back with a flying forearm from the barricades.

Claudio Castagnoli comes in with an uppercut and gets a two-count. Will Ospreay escapes a Ricola Bomb attempt, but Claudio maintains the momentum.

We see a video package hyping up Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong before Will Ospreay makes his way to the ring for the main event.

Shane Taylor connects with a big strike and Moriarty applies the border city stretch to decimate OC. STP lay their flag over Cassidy to make a statement.

Post-match, Anthony Ogogo and Lee Moriarty attack Orange Cassidy. Ogogo hits a vicious punch in OC's mid-section. Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal come out for the save, but Trent Beretta stops them.

OC takes Ogogo and Moriarty out with dives to the outside. After some back-and-forth, Cassidy rocks Taylor and he gets the win with an Orange Punch on Shane Taylor.

But Taylor rocks Cassidy with an elbow strike. OC uses his speed and gets some hits in on Taylor. Anthony Ogogo and Lee Moriarty distract Cassidy. He fights off Taylor and connects with a stundog millionaire.

Shane Taylor is dominating Orange Cassidy and he hits a leg drop on the apron. OC gets some weak offense in and then follows up with a superkick.

Taylor hits a stunner assisted by the ropes and the other STP members get some cheap strikes in behind the referee's back.

Shane Taylor tells other members of STP to not interfere. Orange Cassidy puts his hands in his pockets and gets some strikes on Taylor. OC looks for a DDT, but Taylor uses his power.

The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn appear in a backstage segment and they accept Bang Bang Gang's challenge. Max Caster challenges The Gunns to a tag team match on Collision.

Bang Bang Gang say they are having a great time. Jay White then challenges The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn to a winner takes all match at Dynasty.

Post-match, Toni Storm jumps Purrazzo and May joins. Thunder Rosa comes out to make the save. She has some dissension with Purrazzo, but Rosa takes Storm down and stands tall to end the segment.

Towards the end of the match, Mariah May connects with a hip attack on Deonna Purrazzo and looks for the May Day. But the two stars exchange roll-ups instead and Deonna gets the three-count.

May puts her legs on the ropes to break the hold. Deonna drops May with a pump kick for a two-count.

Deonna makes her comeback with a kick and she follows up with a lariat. The two stars exchange strikes, but Deonna turns things around with a fujiwara armbar.

May wears down Deonna in the middle of the ring before choking her on the ropes. Mariah May stomps on Deonna Purrazzo before the referee stops her.

May gets the upperhand in the match and Toni Storm stands on Deonna's face for good measure. May kicks Deonna and follows up with a dropkick in the ring for a two-count.

Both stars lock up in the ring before having a back-and-forth. Mariah May escapes out of the ring. Deonna Purrazzo follows her, but gets sent into the barricades.

Swerve Strickland responds to Samoa Joe calling him a "choke artist" and "punching bag" by bringing up his struggles in AEW so far. Swerve vows to defeat Joe and teases a face-to-face confrontation later tonight.

Chris Jericho claims he needs to remove the dead weight around Hook and stops Taz as he looks to get some words in. Jericho shoves Taz and the latter falls down.

Hook charges at Jericho and challenges him to a match anytime, anywhere. Hook tells Jericho to get out of the ring.

He says multiple stars like Moxley, MJF, Eddie Kingston, Will Ospreay have benefitted from him. Jericho says he can take Hook to the next level. Hook rejects Jericho's offer to learn from him.

Jericho thanks Taz and then says he pulled Hook off the apron to get his attention. The Ocho says Hook wasn't listening to him. Jericho calls himself the "learning tree".

Chris Jericho comes down to the ring for his segment with Hook and Taz. Hook comes out next.

Post-match, The Young Bucks connect with the EVP Trigger on Daniel Garcia. They then look to do some damage with a ladder, but PAC makes the save with a hammer and chases The Elite away.

PAC looks for the Black Arrow, but Matthew drops him. Nasty landing for PAC. After some brief action, Okada connects with Tombstone Piledrivers. Towards the end, The Bucks connect with superkicks and Okada gets the win with the Rainmaker on Garcia.

After some back-and-forth action in the ring, PAC stands tall. He makes the tag and has a staredown with Kazuchika Okada. Both men with some stiff strikes before PAC thrust kicks Okada.

Penta becomes the legal man and he hits some slingblades on The Elite. Penta hits the Made In Japan and gets a two-count on Okada.

The babyfaces get some offense in, but Mattew Jackson attacks PAC from behind. The Elite triple team PAC before Okada hits a neckbreaker. Penta breaks the count.

Daniel Garcia looks to make a comeback and drops Nicholas on the mat with a suplex. Matthew Jackson stops Garcia from making the tag. Garcia lifts Matthew up and drops him on the mat.

Nicholas Jackson connects with some right hand strikes on Garcia and starts dancing in his face. At one point, Matthew takes the mic and starts commentary as Nicholas dominates Garcia.

Garcia unloads on Nicholas and takes Kazuchika Okada off the apron. The Elite prove to be too much for Garcia and he gets taken down. Matthew Jackson and Okada unload on PAC and Penta at ringside.

Penta gets a two-count on Nicholas and he follows up with a chop. Matthew Jackson gets a strike behind the referee's back on Penta. After some back-and-forth, Daniel Garcia is tagged in.
