AEW Dynamite Live Results (July 5, 2023): Chris Jericho teases joining new faction, backstage attack, former WWE stars lose after 6 months

Post-match, Claudio Castagnoli and Konosuke Takeshita attack Kenny Omega, but The Elite come out for the save. Hangman Page looks to attack Claudio with a steel chair, but Dark Order stops him.

Kenny Omega hits another V-Trigger, but Wheeler Yuta kicks out at 2. Don Callis comes to the ringside area and Konosuke Takeshita hits a Blue Thunder Bomb. Yuta follows up with a splash, but doesn't get the three count.

Omega finally connects with the One-Winged Angel for the pinfall victory.

After a back-and-forth, Omega hits a knee strike on the back of Yuta's neck and hits a couple of snap dragon suplexes. He connects with the V-Trigger, but couldn't get the One-Winged Angel. Yuta almost rolled up Omega, but the latter survived.

Omega hits a chop, but Yuta gets a two-count after hitting the German Suplex. He hits another German Suplex, but Omega retaliates with elbow strikes.

Yuta avoids the V-Trigger and drops him on the mat for another two-count. Wheeler Yuta goes up to the top rope, but Omega joins hims and drives Yuta down. The Cleaner gets a two-count.

Kenny Omega makes his comeback with right hand strikes and takes down Wheeler Yuta. He hits some double ax-handle strikes and gets a two-count after a fisherman buster on the BCC member.

Yuta hits a dropkick on Omega, sending him crashing onto the barricades. Wheeler Yuta gets a two-count after hitting a senton.

Wheeler Yuta slams Kenny Omega on the barricades and hits a neckbreaker at the ringside area. Omega makes his comeback with strikes, but Yuta hit an elbow strike on the back of The Cleaner's neck. He then stomps on Omega's neck.

Omega drives Yuta face-first on the mat and goes for a rolling drop, but re-injures his shoulder. Yuta takes advantage and hits a dropkick and follows it up with a dive to the outside.

Wheeler Yuta attacks Kenny Omega early on, but The Cleaner responds in kind shortly after. He drops Yuta with a back body drop and follows up with a backbreaker for a two-count.

Ruby Soho takes out Saraya and Toni Storm, but Ruby Soho rolls her up for the pinfall victory with an assist from Storm.

Post-match, Skye Blue confronts Ruby Soho on the entrance ramp.

Baker blocks the No Future attempt, but, after a back-and-forth, Soho connects with a suplex for a two-count. Baker manages to apply Lockjaw, but The Outcasts again distract the referee. The Doctor is shoved face-first onto the Owen Hart Tournament Title, but she kicks out at 2.

Soho wears down Baker, but the latter retaliates with forearm strikes. She hits a neckreaker, but Ruby Soho stops Britt Baker's momentum.

Soho takes advantage of the distraction and hits a cheap shot. She gets a two-count in the ring. Saraya pulls Baker's arm behind the referee's back.

Baker applies the hammerlock before taking Soho down with a shoulder tackle. She connects with the slingblade and sends Ruby Soho to the outside. The action spills to the outside and The Outcasts surround her.

Both stars square off in the middle of the ring before Ruby Soho applies a side headlock. She walks out of the ring to regroup with The Outcasts before continuing her offense on Britt Baker.

Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara question Chris Jericho possibly joining forces with Don Callis. It was announced that Garcia and Guevara will be the tag team in the blind eliminator tournament.

Britt Baker is in a backstage segment with Renee Paquette and she responds to Ruby Soho's harsh words for her. She says Soho lied last week and vowed to win the Owen Hart Tournament once again.

Post-match, MJF says he wants another session with Adam Cole before wishing The Panama City Playboy a "happy birthday." Some men come out to the ring with cake and props for Cole. The Devil then starts singing "happy birthday" for Adam Cole.

Cole hits the neckbreaker on the knee on Menard and shortly follows up with the enziguiri. He then hits the super kick on Daddy Magic. Adam Cole hits the Boom on Matt Menard to pick up the win on AEW Dynamite.

MJF and Adam Cole win

MJF makes his comeback with a hip toss and takes down Matt Menard. The Butcher is tagged in and he stops MJF from tagging in Cole. However, The Devil finally reaches Cole and he unloads with a flurry of offense.

Menard whips MJF across the ring and The Butcher stomps on the AEW World Champion. He takes MJF down with a chop and applies the abdominal stretch.

MJF applies an abdominal stretch and asks Adam Cole for the tag. After some hesitation between the duo. Menard takes advantage and isolates MJF. He hits a cheap shot on Cole.

The Butcher and Matt Menard attack Adam Cole and MJF to start things off. Menard hits some chops, but it doesn't faze the world champion.

Doc Sampson provides an update on Roderick Strong who was stretchered after last week's attack by Samoa Joe on Collision. He says the former WWE star is doing well, but AEW will be taking it easy with Strong.

Chris Jericho says maybe he'll join forces with Don Callis before walking out of the ring.

Chris Jericho retorts back at Don Callis before the two seemingly agree with each other. Callis then brings up his feud with Omega and says his new "family" will be based on trust. Callis asks Jericho if he'll join the Don Callis Family.

Callis tries to speak, but receive loud boos from the crowd. He says that 6 years ago he set up Jericho's match against Kenny Omega in Japan. Callis then adds Jericho wouldn't be here with him.

He brings up training with Stu Hart, leading to loud boos from the crowd. The Ocho says he remembers the passion he had when he started. The JAS leader adds he feels refreshed in Alberta. Don Callis interrupts Jericho.

Jericho says that the crowd is loud tonight, but it is a bitter sweet night for him. He stats that the last few months haven't gone his way and he needs to reevaluate.
