In the Final, the winners of semifinal 1 will be the home-side. So Real white or Bayer red... let's see how all this pans out. Thanks for following the day's action with us!

We'll be sure to bring you all the latest from the Champions League right here at

16:45 (IST)13 APR 2018

Oh, this is going to be some round of football!

16:45 (IST)13 APR 2018

16:44 (IST)13 APR 2018

16:44 (IST)13 APR 2018

and their opponents are.. REAL MADRID CF!

16:44 (IST)13 APR 2018

OK! Semifinal 1, the first team is... FC BAYERN MUNICH!

16:42 (IST)13 APR 2018

Sheva's climbed up to the stage, all East European handsomeness and finely cut Armani suits, and he looks as bored with Marchetti as the lot of us in office feel.

16:41 (IST)13 APR 2018

He's now introduced the man who'll draw the balls... the one, the only, Andriy Shevchenko.

16:40 (IST)13 APR 2018

He's just made the Ronaldo overhead goal sound like a Danny Welbeck knee-in. My Lord.

16:39 (IST)13 APR 2018

He is talking, he really is. I just don't know what about. Vitali. Please. Vitali. Pleasseeeee...

16:38 (IST)13 APR 2018

16:38 (IST)13 APR 2018

Now they've shown a nice little video of David Alaba and Joshua Kimmich doing fancy things on the ball, Loris Karius punching the air, Mo Salah basking in the adoration of his congregations, Zizou going bonkers as his main man does the impossible in Turin, De Rossi's magnificent beard, a Diego Perotti thunderbastard... fun, fun, fun!

16:35 (IST)13 APR 2018

Pinto invites the mayor of Kyiv on stage...

The mayor of Kyiv is Vitali f***ing Klitschko.

The former heavyweight champion of the world.

I hope Giorgio Marchetti comes on stage, bores Klitschko so much that he lands one of those barn doors that pass for fists on his face.

16:33 (IST)13 APR 2018

Pedro Pinto has come on stage!!! And he's brought with him a rather neat little video about Kiev, some real cute Ukrainian lasses and that massive Olympic Stadium! COME ON!

16:26 (IST)13 APR 2018

They are now showing Mobil 1 Racing... I don't even know why. We are sat here trying to see which would be the best draw in terms of providing non-stop entertainment. I vote Liverpool vs Real Madrid!

16:18 (IST)13 APR 2018

Oh, and an update on the Sergio Ramos situation... he wasn't supposed to be anywhere near the tunnel during the match, but compelled by the madness of Madrid vs Juve in those frenetic last few minutes, he plonked himself there looking to gee up his team by merely standing where they could see him.

It worked, but it was reported that he may face a one match suspension... as we understand it here, UEFA aren't going to sanction him for it.

15:54 (IST)13 APR 2018

Ten Sports entertainment being what it is, are showing Real Betis vs Real Madrid highlights... fun game, but so utterly useless at the moment! At least show the highlights of the quarters, will you?

15:46 (IST)13 APR 2018

My man Arvind Sriram is insisting I also put Mesut Ozil vs Koke in this... I don't know why, but here goes.. OZIL VS KOKE....

15:45 (IST)13 APR 2018

For those who missed it, the Europa League semifinals...

SF1: Olympique Marseille vs Red Bull Salzburg

SF2: Arsenal vs Atletico Madrid

Arsene Wenger vs Diego Simeone. Professor vs Madman. Xhaka vs Gabi. Welbeck vs Godin. Holding vs Costa... why, UEFA, why?

UEFA Champions League Draw – Time, Venue, Telecast Details

12 PM local, 3.30 PM IST
Venue:  Nyon, Switzerland
Telecast details: Ten 2

Preview – of sorts

Let’s answer the easy questions first, and let’s do it in that dry, slightly irritating, extremely boring style of that lawyer who comes up to tell you about the rules and regulations

Q. Who are in the draw?
A. Real Madrid, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Roma

Q. When are the semifinals?
A. The first legs take place on Tuesday, April 24 and Wednesday, April 25 while the second legs will be held on Tuesday, May 1 and Wednesday, May 2

Q. How is home-away decided?
A. Whoever gets drawn first plays at home first.

Q When is the final?
A. It’s on Saturday, May 26… in the Olympic Stadium, Kiev

Q Will Sportskeeda cover the remaining five matches live?
A. You can bet your beautiful backside, we will.

After what has been arguably the most entertaining quarterfinals in a decade and more, a stage at which established order, a whole lot of money, mammoth first leg leads, Pep Guardiola’s hipsterism, and the mere presence of Leo Messi meant absolutely nothing we have some intriguing semifinalists lined up.

On the face of it the fact that both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid made it this far is far from surprising… Madrid, and that no. 7 of theirs, have dominated every facet of this competition for the last half a decade while Bayern Munich are Bayern Munich-ing their way through life… but the Bavarians look oddly brittle and susceptible; while Madrid got here by the skin of their teeth. The other semifinalists, though, are here because they played out of their damn skin – Liverpool in the first 45 minutes of their 180 min, 5-1 evisceration of the prematurely lauded Manchester City ‘winning machine’ and Roma in the latter half of their 180 when they utterly, completely, totally dominated Barcelona.

Now, while each club may have favourites – ‘Pool fans might fancy Bayern given Klopp’s history against the Bavarians, Madrid fans might fancy Roma ‘cos nobody really knows anything much about them – but as this season has proven, there are no sure things, no clubs who will simply roll over and die.

This is the Champions League, and to win it, you need to goddamn earn it.

This draw is going to be sooo fun!
