According to Sky Sports, PSG's sporting director has confirmed that Edinson Cavani handed in a transfer request. His contract expires in the summer, but he's pressing for a move this window.

PSG have rejected a bid from Atletico Madrid so far, as they deemed it inadequate. Leonardo said:

"We've always said the same thing. We were hoping he would stay with the club, but today (Sunday) he asked to leave..."

Edinson Cavani is looking to leave PSG this winter, and he's already been linked with Chelsea and Atletico Madrid. The latest entry in the race is Manchester United.

Manchester Evening News understands that the Uruguayan is open to a switch to Man Utd this winter. However, PSG requires a fee of £25 million. 

United are in dire need of a striker following the injury sustained by Marcus Rashford.

It's been reported by Standard that Manchester United didn't include a recall option in the loan deal for Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan. 

Such a clause would have been useful at this point in time, given that the Old Trafford outfit currently has an injury crisis upfront, with Marcus Rashford set to be out of action for some time. 

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad is very thin at the moment, with Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku not replaced in the summer.

In a recent press conference, Chelsea's manager Frank Lampard talked about a possible move for PSG's want-away forward Edinson Cavani. The Blues legend stated: 

"The idea of bringing in experience is something I'm certainly not absolutely looking away from. Because sometimes the young players need a little bit of help, and if that's the case then that may help us."

Chelsea are currently pushing to qualify for the Champions League, and are looking to bring in reinforcements this winter to boost their efforts.
