03:11 (IST)4 AUG 2022

India lose 4-1 to Engladnd; Ashish Kumar loses. That's it!

01:46 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Last two events of Day 6 on now!

1. Men's Discus Throw F42-44/61-64 FINAL
2. Ashish Kumar Men's Light Heavyweight QF vs Aaron Bowen (England)

01:37 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Men's Discus Throw F42-44/61-64 FINAL

India's representation from three throwers has come down to two, with Aneesh Kumar Pillai having failed to start the competition. Devender Kumar has registered 45.10m in his second throw, while Devendra Gahlot is a far way behind with a best of 42.13.

01:36 (IST)4 AUG 2022

That's the end of the misery for Barbados. India win comfortably by 100 runs in the end. They coast through to the semis, and they will hope to repeat this performance in the knockouts as well. 62/8 in 20 overs for Barbados.

01:32 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Women's Shot Put Final - Manpreet Kaur knocked out.

A sub-par performance from the Indian considering the rest of the competition field, her best effort came in her last throw - but the 15.59m was never going to be enough to even take her into the Top 8.

01:29 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Captain Kaur joins the party! Shaunta gets a top edge in an attempt to cut, only finding Radha Yadav patiently waiting at Point. 59/8 in 18 overs.

01:25 (IST)4 AUG 2022

SWIMMING - Men's 1500m Freestyle Final

Advait Page and Kushagra Rawat finish in Rank 7 & 8, respectively. Advait finished the race in 15:32.36 minutes, while Kushagra took 15:42.67 minutes to complete the race. No medal for India in this event!

01:25 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Men's High Jump Final - Tejaswin Shankar wins the BRONZE medal; fails to clear the 2.28m height on his final jump.

Shankar doesn't manage to clear the 2.25m mark on his third and final attempt, but thanks to making the least faults while attempting the previous marks, the Indian is awarded the bronze medal!

The youngster decided to save his final attempt for a shot at 2.28m, which would have put him into gold medal contention! In hindsight, a good move considering he already had the bronze, but he fails to make the 2.28+ jump and settles for 3rd place.

01:20 (IST)4 AUG 2022

BOXING - Women's 70kg

Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain loses 2 - 3 to Wales' Rosie Eccles. It was a close-fought game, but eventually, Lovlina ended up on the losing side. She lost her quarter-final bout and has crashed out of the event.

01:17 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Going from bad to worse now for Barbados as Radha Yadav gets in on the act. 45/7 in 14.1 overs. 118 needed in 35 balls if anyone is keeping track.

01:15 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Five brings six eh? Sensational diving catch from Harmanpreet Kaur sends Trishan Holder packing. 45/6 in 13.4 overs. Players just going through the motions now.

01:14 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Men's High Jump Final - Tejaswin Shankar (Currently Top 5)

Shankar's first failure of this competition comes on his 1st attempt at 2.25m. He hits the bar flush, and he's absolutely fuming!

His second attempt is in vain too as he probably didn't get as much height as he would have wanted - the bar comes crashing down.

01:09 (IST)4 AUG 2022

The Barbados innings only seems to wear on at the moment. 41/5 in 12 overs. They need an (highly) improbably 122 in the last 8.

01:06 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Women's Shot Put Final - Manpreet Kaur

A rather underwhelming start from Kaur, who registers a best throw of 15.57m from two attempts - a massive distance of 2.03m from the 3rd placed Jamaican thrower as of now.

01:02 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Barbados in all sorts at 34/5 in 10 overs. Surely, 129 is too much to get in 10 overs.

00:56 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Sneh Rana joins the party now. That's Good Knight for Kyshona. She goes for 16. Barbados are reeling at 32/5 in 8.4 overs.

00:55 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Men's High Jump Final - Tejaswin Shankar

2.22m is too easy for Shankar! He eases past the latest height set, and he's on his way to making the Top 3!

00:51 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Men's Fours, India vs England -
India lose 11-20.

India had almost zero chances to even sniff a comeback in this game after being 3-18 down post End 10, and while they did win four points in the last round, it was all a little too late for England had sealed the match in their favour by then.

00:51 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Renuka finishes with 4/10 in her four overs. Wonder who the Player of the Match will be if (when?) India win this game!?

00:49 (IST)4 AUG 2022

WEIGHTLIFTING - Men's 109+ kg Final

Gurdeep Singh lifts 223kg in his final Clean & Jerk attempt. The Indian weightlifter finishes his campaign with a total of 390kg. He's bringing home a medal!

00:46 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Men's High Jump Final - Tejaswin Shankar

Shankar is one among the 7 jumpers who have cleared the bar! We will now see an increase in the number, and the official height declared is 2.22m!

00:45 (IST)4 AUG 2022

20/4 at the end of the powerplay for Barbados. This is going to be a long, long night for them. Pun very much intended.

00:41 (IST)4 AUG 2022

WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT!? Yet another four-fer for Renuka Thakur. Aaliyah Alleyne departs for a duck after attempting no shot to one which came back in of the seam. 19/4 in 5 overs. Dream tournament for Renuka Thakur, this!

00:39 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Looks like Kycia won't be Barbados' Knight in shining armour tonight. Renuka has her play an attempted scoop onto her own stumps. Three for Renuka, three for India. 19/3 in 4.4 overs.

00:38 (IST)4 AUG 2022

WEIGHTLIFTING - Men's 109+ kg Final

Gurdeep Singh has lifted 215kg in his 2nd attempt. Wait, what? Full drama and the jury has called it a foul lift stating Gurdeep bent his body more than the limit. Heartbreak for the Indian weightlifter but he's still in medal contention.

00:36 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Upto Barbados' Knights to get the chase back on track, as Kyshona joins Kycia in the middle. The rebuild process has been a slow one so far. 19/2 in 4.2 overs.

00:31 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Para Table Tennis

Not the best of results yet again in Para T.T, as India's Raj Alagar loses 9-11, 11-4, 6-11, 8-11 to Nigeria's Isau Ogunkunle.

00:30 (IST)4 AUG 2022

WEIGHTLIFTING - Men's 109+ kg Final

Gurdeep Singh lifts 207kg in his 1st Clean & Jerk attempt. He's on the lead and is likely to bring home a medal. Can he do it?

00:29 (IST)4 AUG 2022

ADVANTAGE INDIA! Matthews gone, and Thakur has yet another crucial wicket. What a tournament she's having! 10/2 in 2.2 overs.

00:26 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Men's High Jump Final - Tejaswin Shankar

Right, so Shankar is now one among the 9 high jumpers left who have crossed the 2.15m mark comfortably. Next up, 2.19m!

Tejaswin gets past 2.19 too!
He's enjoying himself there, a wide smile on his face as he lands safely after getting past the bar!

00:22 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Excellent start for India! Renuka Thakur knocks Deandra Dottin over for a duck in the very first over. 0/1 in 0.3 overs.

00:17 (IST)4 AUG 2022

Men's High Jump Final - Tejaswin Shankar

Attempt 2, 2.15m:
Tejaswin is making this look so easy! Sets his mark at 2.15m and gets it in one go, joins two others who have made the mark! Gives a big thumbs up to his support staff post his effort!

00:10 (IST)4 AUG 2022

18 runs come off the last over as India finish with a flourish. 162/4 at the end of their allotted 20 overs. A good 70-run partnership in the last 7 overs between Deepti Sharma and Jemimah Rodrigues to help India put up a competitive total for the Barbadians to chase.

00:04 (IST)4 AUG 2022

50 for Jemimah Rodrigues! She's come into her own after playing second fiddle to Shafali Verma early on in her innings.

23:59 (IST)3 AUG 2022

India head into the final over of their innings with 144 on the board. Jemimah Rodrigues is nearing a milestone with 49 runs to her name as well. A big over here could really set the game up for India's bowlers to take them home.

23:58 (IST)3 AUG 2022

Men's Fours, India vs England:
India trail 3-18

A supremely dominating run of play from England, who have a massive 15-point lead after End 10. They picked up six points in one round, fuelling their lead from 9-3 to 15-3 in absolutely no time!

23:53 (IST)3 AUG 2022

Men's High Jump Final - Tejaswin Shankar

Attempt 1:
Super smooth effort from Tejaswin, who makes short work of the 2.10m mark! A confident run-up and a graceful pass over the bar, Tejaswin is off the mark in style!

23:51 (IST)3 AUG 2022

WEIGHTLIFTING - Men's 109+ kg Final

Gurdeep Singh will lift 173kg in his final attempt. The weights seem to be heavy for the Indian weightlifter as he drops them immediately. He finishes with a best of 167kg. Clean & Jerk discipline to follow!

23:49 (IST)3 AUG 2022

Indians are starting to step on the accelerator as we head into the business end of this innings. 125/4 in 17 overs.

23:40 (IST)3 AUG 2022

WEIGHTLIFTING - Men's 109+ kg Final

Gurdeep Singh fails to lift 167kg in his first Snatch attempt. The Indian weightlifter needs at least one legal lift in the Snatch discipline to progress to Clean & Jerk.

He will 167kg in his 2nd attempt. And yes, Gurdeep has done it and will surely compete in the Clean & Jerk discipline as well.

23:40 (IST)3 AUG 2022

Jemimah Rodrigues is starting to express herself just a little bit now. 104/4 in 15 overs and India will want to make these 5 overs count.

23:38 (IST)3 AUG 2022

BOXING - Women's 50kg

Nikhat Zareen defeats Wales' boxer Helen Jones 5 - 0 in her quarter-final bout. She is through to the semis and is a medal contender for India.

23:35 (IST)3 AUG 2022

JUDO - Women's +78kg Final

She loses to Scotland's Sarah Adlington by Ippon in the Women's +78kg Final match. However, the Indian player has won a silver medal for India.

23:31 (IST)3 AUG 2022

The fourth wicket falls as Taniya Bhatia top edges one straight into Deandra Dottin's hands although the ball almost pops out of her hands. Bhatia departs for 6(13).

23:28 (IST)3 AUG 2022

The scoring has slowed down significantly. This Rodrigues-Bhatia pair need to make sure they don't give up all of the momentum to the Barbados side here. 84/3 in 12 overs.

23:22 (IST)3 AUG 2022

India are 78/3 halfway through their innings. The brakes have come on since Shafali's dismissal. Not the ideal situation for the Women in Blue.

23:18 (IST)3 AUG 2022

And one brings two. That's the end of skipper Harmanpreet Kaur for a first-ball duck. 77/3 in 9.3 overs.

23:14 (IST)3 AUG 2022

Coming up: Two big finals!

First up, Gurdeep Singh in the Men's 109+ kg final (Last weightlifting) and then Tejaswin Shankar (Men's High Jump)!

23:14 (IST)3 AUG 2022

DISASTER! Shafali Verma is run out for 43(25) after a terrible miscommunication with Jemimah Rodrigues. India 76/2 in 9 overs.

23:08 (IST)3 AUG 2022

Men's Fours, India vs England:
ENG lead 6-1

Not the brightest of starts for the Indian team, as the England side started off with a 3-0 lead after End 1, and they've kept picking up points regularly. India haven't scored a point since End 2, and they'll need to do a lot better soon enough.
