India dominated the first three games against Japan, China, and Malaysia, but met their match in hosts Korea. India were unfortunate to lose the plot in the final and simply did not look to be at their best physically. All is not lost as they win silver with Sjoerd Marijne at the helm after 8 months. This is Subhashish, Goodbye for now!!!!!
In fact, India never looked like scoring a single time in the final two quarters and, if anything, are lucky to have lost by just a single goal. India win silver. Korea win gold for the third time.
The Indians were well and truly outplayed today. They looked to be in the hunt in the first two quarters, but post that, were unable to match the pace of the Koreans. The Indians looked a wee-bit fatigued for the first time in the tournament and were not as sharp as the Koreans.
The silver lining AND the saving grace for India is that they trail by 1 goal and not 4 which could easily have been the case. Luck has favored India so far. Can they ride on their luck and equalize????
37' Great ball by Korea into the Indian circle. The Indian defence beaten all ends up!!!!! Lucky escape as the Koreans unable to get a shot on goal!!!!!
17' The Indians remain calm in defence and the danger is averted. The Indians now outside the Korean 25. Neha Goyal's cross fails to find the intended target.
An uncanny similarity to yesterday's match. The game starting with both sides looking to attack and then slowing down as Korea tighten up and so do India. Does Sjoerd Marijne have a new trick up his sleeve to surprise the Koreans??
12' The pace of the game has slowed down considerably. The Koreans try a long ball into the Indian circle but the shot is wide and cannot find any Korean shirts.
