About ACT 2023

The Hero Asian Hockey Champions Trophy is a Hockey tournament that it is played within the top teams of the continent of Asia. The 2018 Asian Hockey Champions Trophy will be played in Muscat, Oman. This will be the fifth edition of the event.


It will be closely contested by six teams which include home nation Oman, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan.


The Asian Champions Trophy will be sponsored by the Indian Automobile Company, Hero MotoCorp, a global partner of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and also a long term associate of the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF).


Venue


The entire course of the tournament is set to be played in the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, which is located in the city of Muscat, Oman. The home nation Oman will go one on one against the very best in the business and will prove to an incredible learning experience for them. The tournament is scheduled to be played between 18 - 28 Oct. 2018.


Participating Nations


India and Pakistan have been the most successful nations in the four previous editions with two runner-ups and two titles each to their name.


Malaysia has constantly finished third in all the previous occasions. But with a silver medal under their ranks in the 2018 Asian Games, they will be looking to go one better this time around. Japan will also be full of hopes after their triumph in the Asian Games 2018. This tournament will also prove to be a great warm-up with the 2018 Hockey World Cup just around the corner later this year.
