WWE RAW Live Results (January 22nd, 2024): Drew McIntyre sends a message in main event!!

WWE RAW Results:
New Day and Imperium battle to a draw via double countout.
Ivy Nile defeats Valhalla via pinfall.
Dominik Mysterio defeats The Miz via pinfall.
Ivar defeats Chad Gable via pinfall.
Zoey Stark & Shayna Baszler defeat Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell via pinfall.
Drew McIntyre defeats Damian Priest via pinfall.

Is..is Truth distracting Priest on purpose? McIntyre lays out Truth, which distracts the ref. Priest hits South of Heaven, but the referee doesn't see it.

Claymore from McIntyre after Priest tosses Truth to the floor, giving McIntyre a big win heading into the Royal Rumble.

Drew McIntyre defeats Damian Priest via pinfall.

Priest launches himself for an insane dive onto McIntyre. R-Truth shows up to finally give him his cut, forcing Priest to shove him away. Truth goes to put the cash in the briefcase and can be heard asking what the password is.

An elevated flat liner from Priest drops Drew for a near fall. Drew catches Priest going for the leaping corner elbow, but Priest is able to respond with a series of kicks to the ribs.

McIntyre fights back with a Glasgow Kiss. Priest shakes it off and hits another Broken Arrow for a two-count.

Priest sidesteps a Claymore but eats a spinebuster that possibly could've finished the match had Drew's ribs not been injured with that Broken Arrow.

Back in the ring, Priest lays out Drew with a clothesline for a close two-count. Drew stops the bell clap and the two trade big boots that lay them both out in the middle of the ring. The crowd is all behind McIntyre, who gets the better of Priest with a pair of clotheslines and another impressive overhead belly-to-belly.

McIntyre goes for another suplex but gets his eyes gouged by Priest. The Archer of Infamy follows by driving his opponent's head into the post and hitting a Broken Arrow on the announcer's desk!!

McIntyre is sent to the floor by Priest, but the Chosen One launches Mr. Money in the Bank overhead with a belly-to-belly suplex.

McIntyre and Priest seem pretty evenly matched. Both men knock each other off their feet early. This is gonna be a hoss fight for sure. Beef on beef. A Big Mac of a main event.

Who do y'all think moves the sword from city to city? Does Drew take it? When he flies, does he have to put it through the metal detector every time?

It's time for the main event! Damian Priest takes on Drew McIntyre, with both needing momentum heading into the Royal Rumble.

Backstage, Adam Pearce admonishes Damage CTRL for causing chaos on RAW. (Chaos? Kazuchika Okada reference? Probably not) Bayley tells Pearce to expect to see more of that after the Kabuki Warriors win the gold on SmackDown.

After that, Pearce is surrounded by Jinder Mahal and Indus Sher. Mahal asks what Pearce has planned for the man who single-handedly injured the World Heavyweight Champion, leading to a meeting in Pearce's office.

Drew McIntyre is asked if he has anything to say about Cody and Punk's meeting earlier. Simply, no. He said what he needed to say to them already. As far as Damian Priest, he's not ready to be world champion. McIntyre knows what it's like. There's only room for one Chosen One, and it's Drew.

After the match, Damage CTRL lays out the champions while Shayna and Zoey walk away. Will the Kabuki Warriors take the gold before Shayna and Zoey can challenge?

Shayna catches Candice with the Kirifuda Clutch. Stark tags in before Candice can counter, allowing her to hit Z360 for an out-of-nowhere win!

Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler defeats Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell via pinfall.

LeRae shakes up Baszler with a series of arm drags, leading to Zoey forcing the tag. Indi is in as well, and the former NXT Women's Champion rocks Zoey with a boot.
With some assistance from Indi, LeRae tosses Zoey off the apron with a hurricanrana that launches her into Shayna. Former NXT Tag Champs are on fire here.

The Women's Tag Champions Kayden Carter and Katana Chance are ringside for the next match. Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell battle Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler.

Punk takes off his jacket and congratulates Cody's appearance on the cover of WWE 2K24. But he says that the rough part about Cody's story is that, despite carrying WWE for two years, a much greater superstar has returned to take his spot, and that superstar's name is CM Punk.

Cody says that he's going to go right through Punk at the Rumble. They're now face-to-face. Head-to-head! This is a money match!

Cody responds by going to the pipe bomb. He says that all the things Punk spoke about, being the Voice of the Voiceless and everything else, Cody actually did. So that makes Cody more CM Punk than CM Punk himself.

Punk shocks the fans and Cody when he claims to be more of the American Dream than Cody is.
"I didn't have a famous dad. My dad was a blue-collar electrician."

Cody appreciates Punk for treating him like a peer. At the Rumble, there are no friends.

"But what about Sunday morning, Cody?" Punk claims he can separate business from personal. Can Cody?

Rhodes responds, stating that Punk isn't the first person he's met who sees Cody but thinks of Dusty. It's something he's familiar with. Dusty casts a large shadow, but Cody has done everything in his power to be the light in his father's shadow.

Punk says that Dusty called him when Cody was heading to OVW and asked him to watch over him. Punk wasn't familiar with him at the time, but when the American Dream asks a favor, you say yes.

Cody asks what Punk wants to talk about, and Punk shocks the audience.

"I wanna talk about your dad."

Punk says that he and Rhodes have been on very different paths to get here, and come Sunday morning, he hopes they remain friends. But for right now, let's enjoy this moment.

Cody Rhodes is out first, but it's not long until CM Punk hits the scene. Cody has a smirk on his face. This is gonna be fun.

Gable avoids the Doomsault and hits a spectacular German Suplex with a bridge, but it's not enough. A top-rope German Suplex follows, but before Gable can hit his moonsault, Valhalla distracts him. With that, the Doomsault finishes things off.

Ivar defeats Chad Gable via pinfall.

Ivar flattens Gable in the corner with the jumping senton and follows with a diving leg drop. Somehow, Gable kicks out!

Gable launches Ivar off the top rope with an avalanche exploder suplex! Somehow, that's not enough, and Ivar responds with a Tiger Bomb for a near count himself!

Gable traps Ivar with an ankle lock in the middle of the ring!

Gable responds with a running neckbreaker and diving headbutt. Ivar picks Gable up for a suplex, and it looks like Gable tries to fall over the ropes in an EXTREME spot that has only been done a handful of times in WWE.
It doesn't work out, and their necks get hung up on the top rope. Ivar follows up on the floor and is in control as we head into a break.

Gable launches himself at Ivar as the bell rings, hitting a rolling axe kick. Ivar responds by catching Gable for a 360-spin powerslam!

After an embarrassing loss to Akira Tozawa last week, Ivar looks to regain some momentum against Chad Gable. This should be an exciting one!

Damian Priest trying his best not to laugh.

Priest says that McIntyre will take his Punishment tonight. It should be a great slobber knocker of a match. But next up, it's Chad Gable taking on Ivar.

Backstage, Damian congratulates Dom for getting things handled tonight. He begins to talk about Drew McIntyre but it momentarily stopped by R-Truth. Truth attempts to hand off his earnings, but Priest says it's not the right time.

Awh, Priest really does like Truth, who mentions that JD has a "shady Venmo history." What's that mean?

#DIY rushes the ring as Judgment Day beats down The Miz. It's a pretty strange union, to be sure, but Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and The Miz send Judgment Day packing.

Miz hits his finish on McDonagh, but Balor pulls him out before #DIY's Meet in the Middle connects.

The IT Kicks rock Dom, but he's able to avoid the Skull Crushing Finale. He moves in for the 619, but Miz ducks it. As JD distracts the ref, Balor catches Miz with a kick, allowing Dom to hit the 619 and the Frog Splash for the win.

Dominik Mysterio defeats The Miz via pinfall.

Back from the break, Miz takes out Finn and JD on the floor and hits Dom with a springboard cross body for a two-count! Look at Miz bumping up his game almost twenty years in!

The Miz is facing off against Dominik Mysterio, though R-Truth warns him about "Tom and Nick." Miz batters Dirty Dom with chops and a kitchen sink knee to the gut. A flying clothesline in the corner rocks Dom, but Finn Balor and JD McDonagh distract him, allowing Dom to launch him to the floor with a running knee.

Maybe Becky won't be the one challenging Mami after all...

Mami finds Becky backstage and cuts her deep after her embarrassing beat down.

"Maybe I should change my WrestleMania plans."

Interesting history between them, Bayley was the first woman to defeat Nia Jax in NXT. She successfully defended the NXT Women's Championship against Nia on an episode of NXT.
