Updated: 24 October 2018 07:37 IST - Published: 24 October 2018 07:37 IST
...
That's all for tonight folks. Coming from an emotional Raw, SmackDown Live was a bit of let-down before the Evolution pay-per-view, but with the All-Women's Event coming up, it's hard to not be excited. See you next time! This is Anirban Banerjee signing off!
...
Here is a summary of the results from this week:
1. Kofi Kingston vs. Big Show ends in Double Disqualification
2. The Usos defeat AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan
3. Rusev defeats Aiden English
4. Rey Mysterio defeats The Miz
5. Naomi and Asuka vs. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville ends in No Contest
6. Randy Orton defeats Jeff Hardy
...
The show was nowhere as good as last night's episode of Raw, but was an interesting episode of SmackDown Live nonetheless.
...
...
Hardy follows Orton and went for a splash, but Orton moves out of the way. Hardy went splat on the ground instead. Orton sets up the RKO and Hardy looks like he can avoid it. Unfortunately he can't as Orton hits him on the second try. That's all for Hardy.
Result: Randy Orton defeats Jeff Hardy
...
Hardy hits Orton with a Whisper in the Wind for a near-fall, before hitting him with a Twist of Fate. Hardy goes to the top but Orton rolls away.
...
...
...
Randy pulls Hardy to the outside and bounces him off the commentary desk. Orton attempts another pin, but Hardy kicks out anyway. Orton goes after the year again, but Hardy hits back and hits him with the Inverted Atomic Drop, a stomp, and a low Dropkick.
...
Hardy is in a lot of pain, as the Viper is more than ready to inflict pain. He puts him on the top turnbuckle, and hangs him up in the tree of woe. He stomps at Hardy before putting his finger through Hardy's ear.
...
Orton is more than ready to eliminate and destroy Hardy. The two are definitely not strangers to each other.
...
The match starts between Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy. Orton starts pounding away at Hardy, and bounces his head off the steel steps repeatedly.
...
...
The CM Punk chants caught Shane quite by surprise. He was not ready for the audience's opinion of the 'Best in the World'. Maybe the winner of the WWE World Cup faces a returning CM Punk? .... Most likely not.
...
Shane welcomes Jeff Hardy down to the ring for the main-event:
Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy
...
Shane does not talk about any announcement as such, and only hypes Evolution and the WWE World Cup. This might be the beginning of the brand vs. brand teases for Survivor Series.
...
...
Don't say Best in the World Shane. There will always be only one answer. You listening to the crowd, CM Punk?
...
...
Shane McMahon makes his way out to the ring to make an important announcement!

Things are breaking down now, with Zelina coming out and attacking Carmella. All the women entered the ring and started to throw each other over the ropes. Zelina hits Lana with the double knees but then is taken out by Asuka. The Tag team match never not a chance to start, and so ends in a No Contest.
...
Just as the match was supposed to start, The IIconics came to interrupt them with a promo. But before they could get started, Lana interrupted them, but was again interrupted by Carmella.
...
Now:
Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville vs. Naomi and Asuka
...
...
...
Rey Mysterio proves that he is more than capable in the ring. His match in Crown Jewel will be something to watch.
Result: Rey Mysterio defeats The Miz
...
...
The end can come out of nowhere when you are facing Mysterio, and it did for The Miz. Mysterio drops Miz onto the rope before hitting the 619 followed by the splash for the win.
...
...
The Miz is dominant in the match right now, but things can change fast. Miz tries for a Skull Crushing Finale from the top rope, but the two come crashing down. Mysterio kicks Miz in the face, but his momentum is stopped once more with a neck-breaker.
...
The Miz sends Mysterio into the turnbuckle again, but fails to make contact with the Skull Crushing Finale. Mysterio sets Miz up for a 619, but Miz avoids, and hits him with a DDT for a near-fall.
...
Miz manages to reserve a spash and sends Mysterio face-first into the top turnbuckle. He presses his advantage, but Mysterio comes back. Miz stops his return in its track, as he hits Rey with a knee before putting him in a headlock.
...
Mysterio looks as fast as he ever did, hitting Miz with a Splash to the outside. This is the first time in six years that the two star are facing each other. Mysterio hits Miz with several punches in the corner.
...
The Miz has accepted the challenge!
Now:
Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz
...
...
The Miz remains one of the top heels for the company. Perhaps now it's time for him to get into the WWE Championship picture? He would definitely be the first to agree.
...
...
Rey Mysterio may not be as young as he used to, but that does not seem to have slowed him a solitary bit.
...
The Miz hits Rey Mysterio with a cheap shot, and takes him down. Rey drops Miz onto the rope in position for a 619. Miz manages to crawl away, as the fans are left questioning whether they will see the match now or not.
...
...
Mysterio says that he did not come back on SmackDown Live to be on some dusty talk show, and he came back to actually compete. He challenges the Miz to a match right now!
