WWE SmackDown Live Results (June 16, 2023): Gauntlet match, More uncertainty in The Bloodline

What a way to end SmackDown! Is that it for The Bloodline? What's next for The Usos?

Jey Uso asks Jimmy if it's true. Jimmy confirms it. Jey isn't happy with Jimmy. He says just because Jimmy is the older brother, it doesn't make him right every time.

Jey's insecurities are really coming out here. Jey says he's the right-hand man because of Roman Reigns. He says Jimmy is out.. and so is he! Jey now nails Roman with a superkick!

Roman says that since The Usos have been with him, they've main-evented WrestleMania. Roman says the reality is that you can't be a Tribal Chief and a twin at the same time.

Roman adds that when they wanted to make Jey the right-hand man, only Jimmy had an issue with it.

Roman says he knows that Jimmy and Jey are inseparable, but... Jimmy walks out now. He says the real problem is Roman Reigns. He says Roman is using Jey.

Roman asks Jey if he is in or if he's out. He responds that it will be either Heyman or him. Reigns replies that when Jey is Tribal Chief. he can pick anyone he wants as his Wiseman.

Roman says his job was to get The Bloodline to the promised land, but it was their job to stay at the top. Roman says they invested three years into Jey Uso because he's meant to lead, just not yet.

Jey Uso has joined The Bloodline in the ring. The fans are rallying behind Jeyh ere. Roman says he knows what the fans want - they want answers.

Roman Reigns has made his way down to the ring accompanied by Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa.

Jey Uso is walking down to the ring to make his decision when he runs into Sami Zayn backstage. Sami gives Jey a look and walks off.

LA Knight rolls Santos Escobar over but can't pin him despite grabbing the middle rope. Escobar rolls him over and picks up the win.

We're back from the break, and the match started during it. Knight has a headlock locked in, but Santos breaks out and takes him down with a flying forearm. LA Knight hits back with a bodyslam, and he follows it up with an elbow drop.

Santos is out, and he says timing is everything. Even though he's worked hard and sacrificed, now he has the opportunity of a lifetime to win a shot at the MITB contract.

He now thanks Rey for having his back and says Rey inspires him every day. He says that he's fighting for Rey, his family, and anyone in the WWE Universe who has a dream.

LA Knight's music hits, and he walks into the ring and pushes Rey Mysterio down. Escobar is all over LA Knight, who is forced to retreat and regroup.

Rey Mysterio is out next. He says that he's proud to have reformed the LWO and introduces Santos Escobar. Rey says Santos has everything needed to become the next Mr. Money In the Bank.

Cameron Grimes is backstage for an interview. Baron Corbin attacks him from behind before the interview can properly get under way,

Paul Heyman returns to Roman Reigns' locker room. He failed to speak to Jey and Roman doesn't look happy. Solo scares Heyman off, but Reigns tells him to calm down.

AJ Styles and Michin vs Karrion Kross and Scarlett

Styles and Kross start things off. Michin tags in quickly and she's all over Scarlett. Styles tags back in. He hits Cross with the Styles Clash, but Scarlett breaks it up.

Michin pulls Scarlett out of the ring, but she distracted Styles for long enough. Kross locks in the Kross Jacket and nails Styles, sending him face-first into the mat. Kross pins Styles.

Karrion Kross and Scarlett def. AJ Styles and Michin

Paul Heyman is backstage with Jey Uso. Paul Heyman says he's sorry that Jimmy kicked him in the face last week and cost him his title match. he says it was deliberate because Jimmy never misses.

Heyman says Jey doesn't deserve that, and he's sorry that happened to him. Jey Uso says he's sorry because if he's back in the Bloodline, Heyman is still out.

Charlotte says she's won the title 14 times. Bianca responds and says she's the longest-reigning champion in modern history.

Bianca says she's done playing and will be at ringside for Charlotte's match with Asuka and she will challenge the winner.

Bianca Belair isn't happy with Charlotte getting a title shot as soon as she is back. Charlotte responds that the line starts and ends with her. She adds that she herself got no rematch after losing to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania. Bianca replies that after her loss, Charlotte left and went away for three months.

Grayson Waller is all praise for Charlotte Flair. She says Charlotte has always been a game changer, like when she ended Asuka's undefeated streak.

Waller asks Charlotte if she will become a 15-time champion in a few weeks when they face each other in London. Bianca Belair's music hits, and she makes her way down to the ring.

Bayley and IYO SKY are arguing backstage. Shotzi walks up to them and challenges Bayley to a match - if Bayley loses, she will give up her spot in the MITB ladder match. IYO accepts on Bayley's behalf.

Up next: Grayson Waller hosts Charlotte Flair on the Grayson Waller Effect.

Bianca Belair is backstage with Adam Pearce. She wants to know about her rematch but Pearce says he can't give his answer tonight. Belair isn't happy.

More tension between Bayley and SKY here. SKY had Vega rolled up, but Bayley was distracting the referee. Vega now rolls IYO up and pins her.

IYO SKY vs Zelina Vega

Early dropkick by SKY, taking Zelina Vega down. Vega tries to rally but eats a boot to the jaw. Sky now locks in a chokehold on the top rope. Vega tries a roll-up but only gets a one-count.

We cut backstage. Heyman asks Roman Reigns if he's spoken to Jey. Roman says no, he hasn't when asked if he's reached out to Jey Uso. Roman tells Heyman to go talk to Jey Uso.

Sami Zayn wants Pretty Deadly to leave the ring. He says they have celebrated for long enough. Wilson and Prince don't agree and say they will celebrate even longer when they win the titles.
KO says he wants to run into the ring and punch their faces in. Sami agrees, and the tag champs rush the ring. Pretty Deadly retreat.

Pretty Deadly are still in the ring celebrating after the match and they are greeted by the tag-team champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Sheamus now goes for a Celtic Cross on Wilson. Prince with a blind tag as Sheamus hits the Celtic Cross. Sheamus goes to cover Wilson, but Prince nails him with a leg drop off the top rope and pins Sheamus. Pretty Deadly get the title shot!

Pretty Deadly wins the Gauntlet match

Ridge Holland takes down both Prince and Wilson and makes the tag. Sheamus takes down both Wilson and Prince and he goes for a Brogue Kick but misses.

Sheamus hits Wilson with an Alabama Slam instead. Ridge now sends Elton Prince crashing out of the ring and into the steel steps. Wilson rolls out of the ring to the apron and Sheamus grabs both members of Pretty Deadly and hits the 10 beats. He may have hit this guy about 30 times.

Kit Wilson is in control of the match after sending Holland crashing into the steel steps during the break. Elton Prince tags in and sends Holland crashing into the corner. Prince with an elbow to the back of the head for a two-count.

Sheamus and Ridge Holland vs. Hit Row

Sheamus immediately nails Top Dolla with a Brogue Kick and pins him. Only Pretty Deadly now stands between the Brawling Brutes and a title shot.

Sheamus takes Cruz Del Toro out and tags Holland in. Holland hits Joaquin Phoenix with a suplex before turning to Joaquin Wilde. He suplexes Wilde and pins him!

The O.C. is dominating right now. Sheamus has been isolated in the corner as Gallows hammers him with his right hand. Sheamus fights his way back to his feet and hits a bodyslam. He has an opening but can't make the tag yet. Anderson tags in and cuts him off. Sheamus now nails Anderson with a Brogue Kick and pins him.

The O.C. is next to enter the gauntlet. They take control of the match as we cut to a commercial.

GAUNTLET MATCH

Sheamus and Ridge Holland vs. The Street Profits

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins start things off. Sheamus takes control of his team and tags Ridge Holland in. Dawkins also tags in. Dawkins is all over Ford. He nails an elbow in the corner, followed by enzuigiri, tags back in, and nails Dawkins with a Brogue Kick and pins him.

The show kicks off at the parking lot as Kayla Braxton waits for The Bloodline to arrive. She doesn't get an update from either Roman Reigns or Paul Heyman. We'll just have to wait for answers.
