WWE Smackdown Live Results: May 22, 2018, Live Commentary and Results

Daniel Bryan def. Jeff Hardy

Bryan follows up with a series of uppercuts. Hardy goes for a Twist of Fate but Bryan blocks it and hits a Dragon Screw. Daniel Bryan locks in the Hell Hook and makes Jeff Hardy tap out.

Bryan has Jeff on his knees and hits the Yes Kicks. hardy replies with a Twist of Fate. He heads to the top rope and goes for the Swanton Bomb and he's greeted by Bryan's knees. Bryan follows up with a Buzzsaw Kick for a nearfall.

Daniel Bryan has Jeff Hardy in the Tree of Woe. Bryan tries to go for a back suplex from the top rope but Bryan elbows him off and hits the Whisper In The Wind for a 2-count.

Bryan hits Hardy with an enzeguiri. He goes for a jumping knee from the apron and misses. Hardy replies with a diving clothesline from the apron.

As we come back from the break, we see both men try to hit the crossbody at the same time and go down.

Samoa Joe is on commentary for this match.

Jeff Hardy vs Daniel Bryan

Jeff Hardy and Daniel Bryan face off for the first time ever. The winner faces Samoa Joe next week for a spot in the men's MITB ladder match.

Bryan and Hardy go back and forth early on. Hardy hits Bryan with his trademark double leg drop as we head to the break.

Both women take each other out with simultaneous kicks. Deville is back to her feet first and goes to hit a Superman Punch but misses. Naomi rolls her up for the count.

Naomi vs Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville gets another shot at qualifying for MITB. Deville came out accompanied by Mandy Rose.

Naomi was in control early on, showing incredible athleticism. Deville got back into it thanks to her strength. She hit Naomi with a powerful spinebuster followed by rapid fire kicks in the corner.

We come back to see Jey Uso hitting Gallows with a massive Frog Splash. Gallows kicks out at 2. Jemmy Uso hits Gallows with a Superkick and Gallows replies with a superkick of his own.

Anderson and Gallows hit Jey Uso with the Magic Killer and pick up the win. They'll face Harper and Rowan at MITB.

The Usos vs Gallows and Anderson (#1 Contender's match)

The Usos and the Good Brothers had a verbal back and forth before the match began. The match finally started with Gallows and Jey Uso. The Usos sent the Good Brother s over the top rope and out of the ring efore Jimmy Uso hit a suicide dive to both Good Brothers.

Nakamura got onto the anouncer's table and announced the stipulation he had chosen - Last Man Standing.

Nakamura sends Styles gut-first into the announce table and follows it up with a Kinshasa at ringside.

The fight spills out into the crowd and back to ringside. Styles goes for a Phenomenal Forearm off the barricade but Nakamura hits him with a steel chair.

AJ says that it doesn't matter what the stipulation is, Nakamura couldn't beat him when it counted the most.

Nakamura and Styles come to blows. AJ throws Nakamura into the timekeeper's area.

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura are in the ring. Nakamura says that after he wins the title, AJ's house will be his house.

Nakamura says the stipulation at MITB will be a pillow fight.

Andrade 'Cien' Almas vs enhancement talent

Almas laughed at his opponent before unloading on him. After taking him down with a chop, he stomped a mudhole into the young man. Almas then caught him with a big boot followed by a vicious back elbow.

Almas followed it with the running Meteora to the corner, followed by another to the back of the head. Almas finally finished him off with the Hammerlock DDT. Almas didn't even break a sweat.

Lana hit the Facebuster as soon as the match began and she qualified for the MITB ladder match.

The IIconics came out with their own duet. As the match was about to begin, English revealed a huge Lana day sign.

Aiden English came out with a personalized indtroduction for Lana as came out. He got fans to sing "Lana is the best, Lana #1".

The Bar came out to make the interference, They attacked Kofi and Woods at ringside. Miz used the distraction to hit Big E with the Skull Crushing Fifnale for the win.

Miz went to reply with a DDT but Big E planted Miz with an Uranage Slam.

We came back from commercial and Kofi Kingston was now on commentary. Meanwhile in the ring, E hit Miz with three belly-to-belly suplexes. He followed it up with the Big Splash.

Miz clubs Big E in the back of the head, but Big E leapfrogs Miz and puts him in the abdominal stretch. Big E followed it up with a running splash with Miz placed on the apron.

Miz was so clearly out-powered as this match began. Big E's great mood pissed Miz off even more as Big E effortlessly tosses Miz around the ring.

Miz TV with New Day

SmackDown kicked off with Miz TV and special guests The New Day. Miz asked them which member would be participating at MITB. The New Day didn't give him a clear answer.
Miz goaded them and taunted them by saying they would be better and more successful as individiuals.
Big E then challenged Miz to a match and Miz replied and ran out on the arena. SmackDown GM Paige confronted Miz at Gorilla Position and made him go back out to face Big E.

Tonight’s edition of SmackDown Live comes from Worcester, Massachusetts, and is set to answer several burning questions.Daniel Bryan has been on fire ever since making his return to in-ring competition earlier this year.Besides, Shinsuke Nakamura seems to have garnered a ton of attention with his heel turn and recent forgetfulness of the English language.Bryan and Nakamura are set for prominent segments on tonight’s show, whereas a few other pivotal angles are also set to transpire on the show.
