#2 Jake Paul was personally involved in fighter pay negotiations ahead of fight against Tyron Woodley
Ever since Jake Paul made his way onto the combat sports circuit, he has been an outspoken advocate of better pay scales and remuneration for fighters. So much so that Showtime Sports' president, Stephen Espinoza, opened up about the way Jake Paul had influenced the pay scale for fighters that featured on his card.
“Jake when we’re putting together the card and we’re working with the promoter and his advisor Nakisa [Bidarian], Jake made it a point to ask what are each fighter making? Are the women’s fighters, are those fighters being paid appropriately? Are the other fighters, the people we’re bringing over from the U.K., are they being paid appropriately? Jake in particular is involved in everything but you can tell he is concerned about making sure the compensation is fair," asserted Stephen Espinoza.
But when it comes to Jake Paul, it's a lot more than just talking. A number of fighters who featured on his card, including Tyron Woodley, earned the biggest payday of their careers. This spoke volumes about how Jake Paul walked the walk when it came down to it.
