Adriano Moraes is grateful for his immediate rematch against Demetrious Johnson.

Moraes’ had an up-and-down calendar year. ‘Mikinho’ defended the ONE flyweight world title in March and then lost his crown against Johnson in August. The Brazilian and ‘Mighty Mouse’ each have one win against each other.

During an interview with ONE Championship, the 34-year-old former flyweight world champion had this to say about getting a chance to regain the belt:

“Making this trilogy means a lot to me. It’s an honor for me to be able to make history in MMA facing an athlete like Demetrious Johnson – an athlete I never imagined I would face, and now I’m going to fight him for the third time. It’s very rewarding to have this opportunity, and I’m very happy to be doing this trilogy against one of the best fighters in the world.”

Johnson is considered to be one of the greatest fighters of all time. Meanwhile, Moraes is a multi-time ONE world champion ready to solidify his legacy against ‘Mighty Mouse.’ The flyweight trilogy fight goes down at ONE on Prime Video 10, which is ONE’s U.S. debut in Colorado. The event will be available for North American Amazon Prime subscribers on May 5.

Demetrious Johnson has a simple gameplan for trilogy fight against Adriano Moraes

Demetrious Johnson doesn’t plan on making significant changes in 2023. The 36-year-old MMA legend is coming off a historic calendar year. ‘Mighty Mouse’ choked out Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a mixed rules bout and then secured the ONE flyweight world title against Adriano Moraes in August.

During an interview with ONE, Johnson had this to say about his game plan for the trilogy fight against Moraes:

“Just go out there and fight. That’s my game plan. Go out there and get on his ass like last time.”

Johnson doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. ‘Mighty Mouse’ made his ONE debut in March 2019, winning four out of his five fights since. If he emerges victorious at ONE on Prime Video 10, the former UFC champion will once again prove to be one of the greatest fighters of all time.
