Controversial internet personality Andrew Tate has been denied bail once again as he continues to be held in Romanian custody.

On December 29, 2023, Andrew and his brother Tristan were arrested in a police probe whilst at home in Romania. The brothers have been accused of rape, human trafficking and allegedly conspiring to form a criminal group. Both have claimed they are innocent due to a lack of evidence, however Romanian officials have regularly extended their detainment period by 30-day stretches at a time.

Last week, Andrew Tate and his lawyers submitted a bail appeal, however, it was once again denied. Eugen Vidineac, a lawyer representing the Tate brothers, released a statement following the court's decision. According to Vidineac, the decision from the court is "illegal":

"At first sight, the court’s decision is illegal because the inadmissibility principle concerns a question of the impossibility of the judicial act, a principle that cannot be applied in this case."

'Cobra' also bolstered his defense last month when he hired prominent attorney Tina Glandian. Glandian has previously worked with A-list celebrities such as Mike Tyson, Michael Jackson and Chris Brown.

Upon taking over the case, Glandian also drew issue with the court's regular decision to deny bail, believing it violates human rights laws.

"They've had this investigation going on since April [2022]. It's now February. There are not even charges filed against them. This is a huge injustice the way we see it, they should not be detained at this point. We think it's now crossed the point where it's violating international human rights law... I think there's absolutely no evidence that's been presented. That's our position."

Sean O'Malley defends Andrew Tate's views on feminism

UFC bantamweight star Sean O'Malley believes Andrew Tate's controversial statements are often misinterpreted. 'Sugar' claimed that the media have often taken Tate's extreme views out of context, which has led to misunderstandings and widespread hate.

Speaking about the controversial internet star on the The BROMALLEY Show, O'Malley stated that women are too easily offended by Tate and should listen to what he's saying.

The 28-year-old said:

"A lot of girls instantly listen to [Andrew Tate] and get offended and defensive... Those girls shut the f**k up and listen to what he's saying. Because a lot of the things he's describing is how a man thinks whether you like it or not."
