Bellator 228 Results: Champion advances in tournament; former UFC rivals battle; 8-second knockout win by undefeated contender

#2 Darrion Caldwell vs Henry Corrales

In the second fight of the Bellator 228 main card, Caldwell was able to take down Corrales early in the first round and then went on to open up on him on the ground. He continued to beat down his opponent, and before the end of the 1st round, he was able to open up a cut on the forehead of Coralles.

Heading into the second round, Coralles was able to shut down attempt after attempt again and again, as Caldwell was not able to take him down. The continuous pressure from Caldwell ended up with Coralles getting another loss in the round.

Caldwell continued to take advantage in the third round, with Coralles being unable to do much. After a warning from the referee, Caldwell finally engaged and had a takedown, which was unfortunately turned into a Guillotine Choke from Coralles, when the round ended.

Results: Darrion Caldwell def. Henry Corrales via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)

Before the MMA fight could even start properly, A.J. McKee was able to knock down Georgi Karakhanyan with a left and then started to hit him with shot after shot.

The shots were enough to help McKee pick up the win only 8 seconds in, earning him quite the victory. His father had fought earlier on the card getting a win as well.

Results: A.J. McKee defeats Georgi Karakhanyan via KO (round 1, 8 seconds)
