Bibiano Fernandes will make his long-awaited return to ONE Championship better than ever. Following his brutal knockout loss to John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker at ONE: Lights Out, ‘The Flash responded as any champion would. He got back into the gym and started working to improve himself, even at 42 years of age.

Ahead of his ONE on Prime Video showdown with No.5-ranked contender Stephen Loman, Fernandes sat down with ONE Championship to discuss the work he has put into coming back even better than before:

“Since the defeat, I've been training a lot. I also focused on my business and my family, and I did an MMA event in Manaus, but I've been training a lot. I made several adjustments, and I'm ready to fight on November 18th. The fight with Lineker was a good experience. I hadn't fought for many years, and I didn't have a fight rhythm. But now, I'm trained and focused for my next challenge.”

Fernandes’ loss to John Lineker was only his second under the ONE Championship banner. Ready to avoid back-to-back losses for the first time in more than a decade, ‘The Flash’ will face a tough fast-rising contender in ‘The Sniper’ Stephen Loman at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18th.

The event airs live and is free for North American audiences with a Prime Video subscription.

Bibiano Fernandes expects a tough fight against surging Stephen Loman

Bibiano Fernandes is ready to get back into the win column following his world title loss to John Lineker in early 2022. However, ‘The Flash’ knows it will be no easy task against a man who is yet to taste defeat inside the Circle, Stephen Loman:

“Stephen Loman is a great athlete. He’s in great physical shape, he’s a fighter who hits and moves all the time. He kicks a lot, throws overhands with his left hand, and moves a lot in the cage. He’s an excellent fighter."

Representing Team Lakay, Loman quickly worked his way into the bantamweight division’s top five rankings with an impressive knockout of Yusup Saadulaev followed by a unanimous decision win over Shoko Sato at ONE X in March. Needless to say, Bibiano Fernandes will be a massive step up in competition for Loman, but the Filipino standout is more than ready for the challenge:

"I am focused on nothing but Bibiano Fernandes right now,” said Loman in an interview with ONE Championship. “I believe this will be the toughest test of my career. I’ve had a good training camp, and I’m ready."
