Mike Perry is sounding off as he claimed that he was in talks to fight Jake Paul, but it fell through after 'The Problem Child' changed his mind.

Perry took to Twitter to claim that he even had an agreement before Paul backed out of the fight. He revealed that he signed a contract for the fight, writing:

"I signed a contract to fight @jakepaul but he changed his mind"

The timing is interesting as the YouTuber-turned-boxer has confirmed that he will be fighting in February. It's unclear whether the former UFC fighter was the ideal opponent for 'The Problem Child' or if he was considered a backup option should the original opponent withdraw from the fight.

Fans commented on the tweet with their support, while others speculated why Paul would change his mind regarding a fight with 'Platinum', writing:

"If you're talking about now, then that's really embarassing of Jake to even ask you for a boxing fight. He should fight a real boxer now" - @Rxn_605 {Twitter}
"You'd ko him tbh" - @Jerreme619 {Twitter}

It will be interesting to see whether Paul responds to 'Platinum's claims that a fight was agreed on and contracts were signed. The former UFC fighter has an 0-1 pro boxing record as he lost to Kenneth McNeil via fourth-round knockout in 2015.

Mike Perry has been successful since his UFC departure

Mike Perry has been successful since his UFC departure in 2021. After his contract with the promotion expired, he tested free agency and explored other opportunities.

He made the move to bare-knuckle boxing promotion BKFC, where he is unbeaten. 'Platinum's most recent win was impressive as he defeated Bellator welterweight contender Michael 'Venom' Page, who is an elite-level striker.

Even if his boxing fight with Jake Paul doesn't come to fruition, should 'Platinum' continue his winning streak in BKFC, he could become a hot commodity in MMA again if he decides to return to the sport.
