UFC News: Conor McGregor's teammate says the Irish are coming for Khabib

UFC 205: Weigh-ins
The Fighting Irish

What's the story?

Conor McGregor's teammate and sparring partner, Peter Queally posted a picture of himself and ‘The Notorious One’ after a training session to his Instagram.

And the caption beside the image read: “Last hard sparring done. Russia get ready, Ireland is coming for you.”

In case you didn't know...

Khabib Nurmagomedov had a confrontation with Artem Lobov, who is a longtime friend and training partner of the 'Notorious' Conor McGregor.

Triggered by this act of Khabib, McGregor and his teammates trespassed into Barclays center before UFC 223 to retaliate Khabib and injured some fighters.

He had to turn himself in after the incident to the NYPD and was later released on a bail amount of $50,000.

The heart of the matter

A fight between McGregor and Nurmagomedov can break PPV records and is going to be one of the greatest display of Mixed Martial Arts.

And this social media post of McGregor’s team-mate Peter Queally certainly reveals that the SBG camp has started working towards stopping the 'Khabib train'.

Peter even had the message inscribed in the Russian language alongside the image. This explicates that the McGregor camp wants the other side to know that they are coming for them.

What's next?

A fight between McGregor and Nurmagomedov can be the biggest fight in UFC, and all these social media exchanges are only a precursor to that mega event.

UFC is targeting an event in Russia this September, and there's a very high likelihood for a McGregor - Khabib matchup on that card.

Authors Take

Personally, I have a hard time considering it's 'Khabib time' presently. He never faced Conor or Tony Ferguson.

Both these fighters were stripped of their respective title after UFC 223, and Khabib was declared the lightweight champion without him fighting the two contenders.

This is a fight people are craving to watch and It can answer a lot of questions.

Peter's social media post is a clear sign showing that Conor's team is ready for Khabib.
